Link me to the first topic you made on here, if you can't find it. Anyone who replied still around?

Please do not bump up any zombie threads if they are older than a year or two.

That being said, what was your first thread made on here? Are you able to find it?
I was.
In that thread, There’s a surprising amount of posters who are still active (by active, I’m defining it as “having been active in the last month or so”). They are: ivylass, Ino, FairyChatMom, Rico, Lsura, Tomndebb, Casey1505, wolf_meister, Jonathan Chance, Ellen Cherry, AncientHumanoid, Smeghead, Mtgman, lieu, ioioio, imthjckaz, urban1a, lel, and Scribble.

Nineteen posters from my first topic still active. Can anyone beat that?

But more importantly, I’m curious what your first topic was.

My first thread was a question about batteries for an AED. engineer_comp_geek, bouv, and Leaffan replied and are still active on the board.

My first thread was a question about the Berlin Wall. Of those who replied, it seems only Skywatcher is still around.

Posted 8 days after I joined. In the Pit of all places - so odd for such a nice, sweet soul… :stuck_out_tongue:

It appears Annie-Xmas, gigi, and teela brown are still active from way back then. Several who posted have since been banned, and at least one has died. :frowning:

OK, so I’m going to show my age.

My first thread was thread number 8 on this board. It’s so old that my name doesn’t show at the top (it just says “guest” - that is due to the Winter of Missed Content and a backup copy of the board at the time being restored.

It’s dated 3/16/1999. Fortunately I thought to sign my name to it - and I got a response from the Master himself on it!

And being so old and everyone listed as a “guest” I couldn’t tell you if any posters are still active - besides Cecil Adams, of course.

From 4-11-13

First respondent (suranyi) still active.

The first one which I could fine only had one reply by ZipperJJ who is still active. I had been a member for two years, but didn’t start a lot of threads myself.

I am here, I am here!, 9/7/1999, earliest that I can find.

It’s hard to search for ubb version 1 threads. ubb version 2 threads have the user name (they were properly converted when we moved to vBulletin) but the even-older ubb version 1 threads all show up as “guest” (the vBulletin conversion messed them up for some reason)

Still-active posters on the thread: Stoid, Gaudere, Doctor Jackson

tomndebb,Sealemon88, Strainger

Raisins vs. Currants in GQ. One response by a poster who is inactive for over a year. :frowning:

Second thread was slightly more successful, as far as the OP goes.

Here’s mine.

Only 2 people responded, both of which are still active–smithsb and Duckster.

Here. A handful of folks still active.

Sept 10, 2000. anthroposophy. Two replies, both of which are still here, at least once in a while in one person’s case.

I may have had earlier threads, but the “find all posts started by” quits for me in 2001.

I cannot find the first thread I started, by quite a number of years. But it has been a serious blast from the past looking through old threads that I posted in, so thank you for posting this question.

This was one of my favorite old posts that I found.

It probably wasn’t the best start for me in GD, but it was a pretty interesting topic.

This.

wolfman is the only still-active poster from that thread.

This one is mine. It looks like Quartz, Shagnasty, Muffin, Sage Rat, CairoCarol, and Cat Whisperer are still here and posting, some 10 years on. I suppose that’s not too surprising considering how many long-term posters we have here.

Two things jump out at me reading that old thread… first, there was a 4 1/2 year gap between my first and second thread. I can’t explain that. Maybe it was the pay-to-post era? And second, I really, really miss my old username, Thylacinidae.

IIRC my first post was neither answered, nor, I think, viewed. Pretty much a nothing post.

Bob

This seems to be it.

Surprisingly few banned posters, but only one’s had any activity recently - Sealemon88. And they haven’t posted since 2014.

Oops, wait, I see Omnicient has logged on recently, too.
