Link to a single post?

I’m sorry, I know this has been asked about fourteen times already, but how do I link to a particular post? As of now, I’m reduced to linking to the thread and directing folks to a particular post #.

I should know how by now, but I don’t. Help!

Upper right hand corner of the post, click the number which will open the single post in its own window.

To answer my own question (thanks, Wesley)…

you click on the post number next to the exclamation point.

To bring up the post in context, get the post number by hovering over the reply button, then code

{post=postnumber}your text{/post}

replacing the curly braces with square brackets, of course.

That single post view thing is evil, as it doesn’t give the reader any way to get back to the originating thread.
This method brings up the post# you want to show, within the context of it’s own thread.

Actually, once you open the single post, in the upper right hand thread of that window you’ll see the thread title, which is a link. Found that out by accident one day, since it’s not at all obvious that it is a link.

Just testing something…

So it IS!
Thanks TellMeI’mNotCrazy, that’s been driving me nuts.

Squink, the method I posted generates the link you coded manually. Try it, you’ll like it! :slight_smile:

The thread link on the single post always takes you to the first page of the thread. This is extremely annoying if the post is not on that page. That’s why I always use the “post=” vB code.

It would be very convenient if they would change the link to the single post to the “in context” format.
