The economy sucks.
Increasingly I see updated profiles on Linkedin that state "Experienced blah… blah… blah… instead of an actual job title. I feel for my comrades in electronics manufacturing. I was fortunate enough to escape to a completely different career 3 years ago. But for those left behind, and particularly those my age, it’s a terrible, horrible situation. Electronics manufacturing used to be exciting, and most OEMs made their own equipment. Now it’s off-shored to China and Mexico, etc.
I feel for my brethren in electronics manufacturing. An industry I cut my teeth on and know inside out and backwards. It was a really good career 20 years ago, and now it’s pretty much dried up.
I never thought I’d see the day.
