About Kat Denning, the Two Broke Girls brunette: is her trademark dark lipstick worn for comedic effect, or is that considered a good look IRL?
I don’t know that show (I assume it’s a TV show), but I know from browsing the “makeup addiction” sub-Reddit that dark/black lipstick is indeed a fashionable thing. I know it has been in earlier eras too, maybe late 80’s or early 90’s? It doesn’t look any better now than it did then, in my opinion, but I think some women enjoy playing around with makeup to go for dramatic looks.
Missed the edit window and wanted to add: I just looked her up, and what I see is dark red lipstick - it appears to be a classic look to me. I think she looks nice. Her lips are emphasized, but she hasn’t also drawn in scary eyebrows and drawn contouring stripes all over her face, so the photos I saw looked like a tasteful look to me, although I personally think more natural looking shades are usually prettier. She is a beautiful girl though.
Yeah, I don’t think her lipstick is too much. She has very full, pouty lips, so I can see why she emphasizes them. I haven’t seen the show, but I would assume that her bold lipstick matches her character’s personality.
