Literal TV/Movie Titles Game

Is it wrong that I would actually watch this?

Attack of the Clones – Dolly and her sheep friends lead an uprising.

Die Hard – a documentary on erotic asphyxiation

Blackadder – biography of a leading African American mathemetician

Liar Liar – Biographical show on Bill Clinton

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels – Live congressional coverage

Monstre’s Ball – er… my live shower webcam?

The Neverending Story – a movie that opens and only has one show time per theater, but ensures concession sales almost indefinitely…

The Kentucky Fried Movie: A skit-compilation comedy which, according to the director, writers and actors, is absolutely hilarious. No one else will ever know, as all prints were breaded and immersed in hot oil prior to release.

The Groove Tube: History Channel documentary on the invention of firearms with rifled barrels.

From Russia, With Love – the story of mail-order brides from the former USSR.

Nothing short of brilliant. In your honour:

Gilligan’s Inland - a tour group become stranded again, this time in Yosemite National Park

Mission Impossible - A couple’s hopeless attempts to redecorate an old adobe abode in southern California.

The Perfect Strom - An ancient legislator is reanimated and returns from the dead, better than ever.

As The World Turns - A documentary shot entirely by satellite

All Quiet on the Western Front - a war documentary, unluckily scheduled to start shooting on November 12 1918.

IO - Romantic comedy set on one of Jupiter’s moons

North by Northwest - sequel to the Navigators

The Nostradamus Kid - inaccurate prophet didn’t see this one coming, either

It’s been a while, but I had to throw in this one:

Spice World - Travelogue of the planet Arrakis.

Legends of the Fall - Extreme skateboarding’s most bone-jarring slams and spills caught on video!

The Terminator - an in-depth documentary on the history of the English language’s most important punctuation: the period.

Gone in 60 Seconds - CrazyMonkey attempts flirting with beautiful women at the bar, with depressingly repetitive results. :frowning:

Attack of the Clones:
Advertisments for upcoming reality series, remakes of movies that didn’t need to be remade and sequels to movies nobody cares about.

The Empire Strikes Back:
In this fantasy movie the British finally get fed up and conquer the world. Tea and crumpets served at every showing.

A New Hope:
Everyone hopes the next movie will be good.

Lord of the Rings:
Biopic about Muhomed Ali or alternatly the head if AT&T

Return of the King:
Movie about Elvis’ comeback.

Some from the 1950s

77 Sunset Strip: a large group of noctural nudists who disrobe at dusk.

Naked City: This one is just too easy – forget it.

Hiwaiian Eye: Science Fiction show about the monster eye that hovers over Oahu.

The Rat Patrol: Exterminators looking for large furry rodents.

See if you can catch the theme here:

Dr. No: A story about the only team physician in the major leagues who does not give out steriods.

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service: A rather dull documentry about a set of serving dishes beloning to the Queen of England that no one has seen in years.

Moonraker: A science fiction story about a retarded man who goes out each day and rakes the moon. Weak plot.

Living Daylights: Another science fiction story about small lights that become animated when exposed to sunlight.

True story, when I was little in the early 1960s, I was Jewish and living in the Western United States and I found myself faced with some unique challenges. So when I heard the name of a program coming on the air on season, I thought it was directly about my situation. The show was Temple Houston - It turned out it was a lawyer/detective show about a guy named Temple Houston. Jeez, did I feel cheated. I think it died after a single season. It deserved to.
