Literary types! Name the Straight-Dope-astrophe!

The server crash is what I am referring to when we lost the information after Dec. 7. The newest one at least. I saw it referred to as the Great Server Crash, but that seems to… direct. You’ve read Lovecraft, Tolstoy, Tennison. Come up with a truly mystical sounding name for it that would leave the non-cognascenti scratching their heads! Here are some ideas:

The Sundering
The Burning Times
The Age Of Few Pixels
The Age Of Woe
The Holy Malfunction
The Dark Age
Show me what you got, we’ll vote on it later!

The Snow Crash (sorry, I’m a Neal Stephenson fan)
The Winter of Our Missed Content (a pun so bad it hurt)
The Bleak Age
The Great Dark
The Time of Ashes
The Unholy Silence
The Mute Teeming
The Age of the Void

The Lost Times
The Hacked Off Days

I always just call it the December 7th Massacre. Make it sound like a significant battle in a war that, when inserted into conversation, will make pseudo-intellectuals pretend that they know what you’re talking about.

Although The Winter of Our Missed Content is great, too.

Can’t come up with something that answers the OP, but for our time on the substitute boards I nominate “The Time of Smashee”. :frowning:

I love Winter of Our Missed Content. More! MORE!

I’ll drop another vote for Winter of Our Missed Content.

widdershins’s suggestion has my vote. I don’t think “Winter of Our Missed Content” can be topped…

Yet another vote for Winter of Our Missed Content.
Bravo!

I’d like to vote for Winter of Our Missed Content too. Well done, widdershins!
