Little Hitlers taken from home - Campbell family tragedy

Are you the only one that missed that the kids were not removed for their names? No one did one you are describing.

On the other hand some basically anonymous posters on a message board are commenting on the parents as is our right.

Depending on what you meant by that, yes. “Post hoc, ergo propter hoc” just means “After this, therefore because of this” and refers to making a false assumption of causality because one thing came after another, like, “I won the game because I wore my lucky underwear.” So, “The kids were taken away, and they were named Nazi names, so that must be why they were taken away,” could be considered an example of that. Although perhaps not because it might have been one of the main reasons they were taken away.

Valete,
Vox Imperatoris

Those parents are an extra crispy bucket of stupidity.

and after a shot at being Pope :stuck_out_tongue:

I too find his being a member of the Hitler Youth annoying, indeed insulting being a Jewish Person, but I have been given to understand they would have killed his ass had he not joined up.

I don’t think he liked it either.

Not to hijack this into a serious discussion, but Benedict/Joseph Ratzinger did not join the Hitler Youth himself. He was enrolled by the head of his school. He rarely, if ever, attended meetings (I think he did have to sometimes convince people he was really into it), and later in the war, he deserted the army. The Nazis and Catholic Church in Germany generally didn’t get along. There’s a painful irony in a former Hitler Youth member being made head of the RCC, but I don’t believe he was a Nazi supporter.

Kindergarten?

Yep.

Probably no more so than Adolf Hitler Campbell.

It was pretty obvious that the kids would be taken away by the authorities. After all, Third Reich and you’re out.

No, I did not miss that fact. I was, however, on a bit of a rant and didn’t make clear the target(s) of my vitriol. My apologies.

Tis cool, I’m glad I edited down my original reply.

Ouch, that pun hurt.

So what you are saying is that the kids were taken away because they weren’t wearing their lucky underwear?

Yeah, go reich ahead

Come on, you can do better than that. Concentrate!

Just found this little interesting study.

I have often speculated that naming a child Wayne causes them to become serial killers.
