THe new season starts this monday, does anyone here watch it?
I love the show, the family seems really nice.
My daughter is addicted to the show, so I’ve watched it a time or two with her. Kind of watched it, anyway. I’m not terribly fond of that type of day-in-the-life reality show, which seem kind of voyeuristic and creepy to me, so I was actually reading a book with the show on in the background. Nothing against the individual family, who do seem like very pleasant people,
I’ve been watching it from the start. My television listings have faked me out the last couple of weeks by giving episode descriptions that read like new episodes, but the shows that aired were actually repeats from last season.
So the last episode of last season ended with the trebuchet accident, right? And the new season will pick up there? Or have I missed something?
My 8 year old son loves that show, so I think we’ll tune in. He LOVES it.
Yep, the preview for the new season picked up with them running to help the injured.
The dad bugs me with his doing things behind Amy’s back (the VW bug) but then she never gets too upset anyway. I love the universe they have created for themselves on the farm, especially the custom kitchen.
The brother of the father (also a little person) did the initial web site for my wife’s store. We see the father and mother around town from time to time.
I’ve been to the Roloff pumpkin patch and met Matt Roloff. They are genuinely nice people, and still manage to keep a relatively low profile, even with the show.
People around town see them all the time, but I think they pretty much get left alone.
I love the show. The family is so engaging.
I bet it would be so cool to meet them. The Dad is suck a remarkable man he has so much going on and then they have such a great family. I read somewhere the dad had a book coming out, I would like to check it out.
The new season comes on tonight! I watched the marathon all day yesterday it was great.
I like this show, too, but I only see it catch-as-catch-can. Tell me about the accident?
They operate a trebuchet on their farm - I don’t know the technical terms to describe it, but apparently, they throw a pumpkin on the end, and let the sucker fly. They were doing this at the end of the season this fall, the trebuchet malfunctioned, and both Jacob (the youngest child - he’s 9) and Mike, their employee/friend of the family were hit by the trebuchet and seriously injured. Both ended up doing fine, but when it happened, there was some serious worry that they were both more seriously injured than anyone knew.
What can I say? I love this family. I’m really looking forward to tonight. I get annoyed with the twins for their attitudes (but they’re teenagers), and Matt drives me nuts sometimes, but overall, they seem like a really sweet family.

That’s interesting. I have seen a good bit of the show, and it appeared to me that Matt was the only little person in his family.
Any ideas why we never see his brother?
I saw a few episodes of this show last night as I was cleaning up the house. My question is: Where do they get their money? The dad (Matt?) is always jetting off somewhere “for work” – what does he do? I know that’s not a polite question, but they’ve opened up their personal lives by doing a reality TV show and this is a message board, so I figure I can ask.
From Matt’s bio on the TLC website:
I don’t know if that’s what he’s doing now, but it at least seems to be in the same vein. I, too, really like the show and watch it when I catch it on. I’m hesitant to watch tonight’s episode, though - I’m a sympathetic stressor.
Matt’s been working for a software company again - which is where some of the issues came in with the second season - he was traveling quite a bit, and very likely still is. He does own his own business as well - they make ‘little people kits’ for hotels (I know, that sounds terribly un-PC, but that’s essentially what they are). Apparently, the farm is also becoming quite profitable as well, due to the television show.
I know way too much about this family.

From my understanding the dad was/is a very successful business man. Their farm is very profitable during the pumpkin peach seasons. I checked out their website and it looks like they corporate events at the farm too.
Dolores tonights episode will touch on Jacob’s accident.
Thanks!
No problem. Wow I knew that the guys were okay but seeing them lay there on last nights episode was just heart wrenching. Little Jacob is one of my favorites he is just so cute. I am so happy that he is okay. They are such a strong family nothing will keep them down for long!
wow, I loved the family and this show until they had Matt and Amy out at her birthday dinner and she had her cell phone ring and answered it at the table, multiple times! C’mon Amy! I understand you’re worried about the kids, but put it on vibrate!
I still love them, but grrr.
Yeah she did seem to answer the phone often at the dinner table. I loved how Matt said he left his phone in the car but she called him on the battery being dead.
I loved the gifts he got her and Molly, they were really nice. Did anyone catch the episode last night?
