One final thing. I am absolutely in no way reticent to talk about the difficult and urgent issues facing black people in the U.S. That is part of my reason for croticizing Huey to the extent that I jave; it’s been a huge let-down to find out that that conversation was not to be had here. And i also absolutely know that I am not alone in holding these sentiments. That’s not to say. I will have this conversation with a fellow adult, that is the only stipulation I have. Well, an adult who is discussing the issues and putting forth ideas and opinions in good faith. You cant have penetrating dialogue without these basic foundations.

For myself, I will say that I left the thread when I caught Huey adding accounts of violence against blacks that included a black woman beating up a hispanic man, and other things that were completely irrelevant to the thread. It felt like a scam. Not a real effort to talk about the issues.
I will make a point to bring news to the thread as well.

And then when someone suggests you start a thread where you can actually raise the actual topic of the many actual instances of racism black people experience in Africa to avoid Huey derailing discussion of the topic, you accuse him of being “America in a nutshell” and “white people writing the OP.”
You don’t get to play it both ways. This is Huey’s thread, and he gets to raise the topics he thinks it’s about, and we get to reply. You don’t like that, then report the posts you think are out of order, or start your own thread.
