Local radio station and stupidity.

So my local radio falls for the “Bush reading a book upside hoax”

I email them

Their genius producer goes to the Snopes web site and still refuses to pick up the white courtesy clue phone…

His reply?

Uh no, genius. The photo was Photoshopped (hell Snopes even shows the original).
THIS is why it’s taking so long.

(FTR… my use of the term “Dorks” was not an insult to them…it’s how they refer to themselves …hence the website name)

Morning shows are the worst, and every station seems to insist on “Bill and Katy in the morning” set-ups around here. Even the great rock station that used to just play songs (imagine that) in the morning has switched to a team of something like five raucous folks in the morning. The worst is the team of two uninspired DJs; on Valentine’s Day he tries to strike up a conversation: “So, Debbie, what do you think is a really romantic thing to do for your partner?” Debbie: “…uuhhhh…I don’t know.” You know what, Debbie? In the spirit of filling radio airtime with something other than what I could come up with on my own, frigging make something up. It’s not like you are suddenly put on the spot; you are on the radio, on a morning show that unfortunately relies on some patter, and you should be able to ad lib. Arg!

I keep trying to disabuse friends of their chain letter notions and they just keep right on going. One friend even disparages reliance on the internet in general and snopes in particular; OK, they may not be The Truth but at least give them a try. You have distain for the internet but you fall for every petition coming through your e-mail?

I see that I have responded with two rants not quite related to the OP, but there it is.

Geez, Dave. I figured out that Dwyer and Michaels were morons when I was in grade school.

That having been said, I love it when you post QCA rants. Keeps me from feeling homesick.

(And you still owe me a Chipper, dammit!)

xmradio baby!
