Heh-heh, Matt, I was waiting to see how you’d respond to the World’s End suggestion
Here are the photos of the last LondonDope so you guys can find crusoe, kferr and fierra easily.

Ah, I’m sure I’ll cope. I’ll just drink myself into oblivion that afternoon – first day of the football season, I’ll probably need to come 5pm…
Run the last part of that post past me again, Matt – perhaps there’s some George Michael-esque Londoper tradition of which I’m not yet aware.
Matt – Twisty’s back on the board on Friday, I believe, so I’ll / we’ll know more then about whether the Monday malarkey is on. Hopefully it will be.
The middle of Camden on a Saturday night – are you insane, woman? I was happy with the Fitzroy. But if I must go to Camden, I must…
The spouse is probably joining us as well, although when I asked her, she said “Wait a minute – all these people know about me is that I kick people, right?”
Uh, I hope not. My lot are playing their first match of the season on Saturday and I’m an eternal pessimist. I may be drowning my sorrows a lot earlier than 7.30pm. If anyone fancies arriving earlier I shall be mostly frequenting pubs in Camden with large sofas.
I asked my SO (the kabbess) that I was meeting up with a buncha people from the internet and asked her if she fancied coming along.
She gave me a look.

Okay, so maybe the middle of Camden on a Saturday night isn’t the best idea after all. You sort it then. Mr Fran and I can be wherever and whenever people want to be.
Mr Fran is coming because you’re all clearly a bunch of axe murderers.
But I always leave the axe behind in London as it’s too crowded on the tube…
We did Camden before on a Saturday and it was fine. I would love to know the story behind why Matt hates the World’s End pub so much though. If it’s entertaining enough, we may let him pick a new pub ;)!
Ah, just a bit touristy for me fierra, but I’m happy to go with the majority. I would suggest something a little earlier than 7.30 if you want a seat anywhere in London, mind.
Better pubs in Camden include the Hogshead (same one as last time fierra), Blake’s (a bit pretentious and harder to direct people to) or go one stop further to Chalk Farm, which would probably be a little quieter (where we ended up last time).
Honestly though, I’m happy to go with what people know.
A thought occurs to me.
If anyone gets there early, I can be there in 15/20 minutes. If anyone wants my mobile number just email me at the address in my profile.
If we do go for the World’s End, can we make it the front pub bit? The back room is too big to wander round trying to find people I don’t know.
Can we go to Chalk Farm instead? It strikes me that I’d actually quite like to talk to you guys, which may not be physically possible in Camden on a Sat eve.
Also, I’m going to e-mail you my mobile number Crusoe.

If Chalk Farm is acceptable (it’s one stop further on the Northern Line from Camden, doesn’t cost any more, but you need to make sure it’s a Edgware Branch train you get) then I’d recommend The Enterprise.
Vote?
Chalk Farm is good for me.
Okay.
Here’s a suggestion: 7.30pm, or earlier for anyone interested, at The Enterprise on Chalk Farm Road. Get a Northern Line Edgware Branch train to Chalk Farm (if you get a train to High Barnet or Mill Hill East you face a bit of a walk, since they don’t go to Chalk Farm).
Leave the station, turn left, walk to the junction and The Enterprise is the brightly-coloured building across the road, next to Marine Ices.
Map here – the pub is on the corner of Chalk Farm Road and Crogsland Road. If people get fed up there’s plenty of alternatives around.
In the event of anyone arriving earlier and being bored, I’d highly recommend a walk up Primrose Hill, which has some spectacular views of London.
…because I’m going to a wedding. But I’m available Thursday (Aug 9) from about noon onward. If anyone would like to meet up and show me the sights, send me an email.
Thanks Matt - is it a one exit station?
Yep. Same one you and ruadh left from the last time. The pub’s the last one we were in then.
Thanks.
As a latecomer to this thread, does anyone mind if I join y’all…
That is if Ms. Pixie approves budget and time allocation and tells me where the keys to the shackles are hidden this week!
Gp
The more the merrier, grim.
Chalk Farm works for me, assuming I don’t manage to get lost…
