Lone Cop gets taunted by large group of motorcyclists.

This never happened to Ponch and Jon.

The lone cop made the right decision to withdraw. There’s nothing he could do by himself. I don’t understand why they didn’t call out the Police Helicopter to get eyes on these idiots. Then arrange a roadblock up ahead. Even my rural state’s highway patrol has a couple helicopters for traffic enforcement.

Anyhow, they got away with it and have something to brag about at their clubhouse parties.

Reminds me of an episode of Andy Griffith when Barney tried to get a couple farmers to leave a road side stand they had setup. They told him to “beat it” and poor Barney skedaddled away. Andy gave him a pep talk and Barney confronted them again.

cool.

Related thread already started in the Pit.

This is quite similar to the group of bikers in NY that took over a freeway a few months ago. Doing similar stunts and speeding. Some poor guy in a car found himself in the middle of motorcycles. He panicked and bumped one of the bikers. They all took off chasing after him. He got stuck in traffic in traffic and the bikers dragged him out of the car. He was hospitalized after the beating. There was a thread here about it a few months ago.

It’s a dangerous situation for everyone when a lot of speeding bikers take over the road.

While the bare facts are kinda correct in your post, there are a few left out.
Alexian Lien (lightly) rammed a biker who had pulled in front of him and slowed unexpectedly. Other bikers in the group surrounded his Range Rover, and he reacted by running over three of them crushing a spine and puncturing a lung.
After the 6,000 lb vehicle ran over three riders, then the remaining riders chased him in a rage.
Not exactly a case of evil bikers choosing “some poor guy” at random and terrorising him like some sort of bad immitation of The Wild One.

randomly brake checked in front of car resulting in a bump to biker. swarmed and beat on car, puncturing the tyres. all this while his wife and two-year-old daughter was in the car.

when you terrorise a family in their 6,000lb vehicle, do not set your puny flesh and two-wheeler as a roadblock separating them from safety.

You’re right, the NYC incident confirms your belief that all strangers are baby eating maniacs. The bikers choose Lien at random and attacked. Better spend the rest of your life indoors to be safe.

Let’s get back onto the OP’s topic of a different group of baby eaters, out on their usual Sunday baby cruise.

that’s not what i said. read it again. take your time.

Sorry to continue this hijack, but I just had to roll my eyes at one of the three’s lawyer, who said the SUV driver should have “honked his horn,” because then the three would have just meekly stepped out of the way.

Sure.

Srsly? Can you link to that? Please?

Some recently found footage of the bikers before they encountered Alexian Lien.

Imagine that swarm all around your car and you’re just trying to get away.

Good summary of the incident.

The actions of these bikers is quite similar to what the CHP officer encountered. I’m sure he would have been dragged down and attacked the same way. If he had he in any way angered those men.

Click the Wikipedia link in post #5, open the section “Reaction,” and scroll down to “Edwin Mieses.”

“I got this badge, I got this gun, and I got the love of Jesus right here in my pretty green eyes!”

Don’t bring a bike to a car fight.

Ah ok, I was thrown off by the fact that you said “his lawyer”, but I see now that it was just Gloria Allred.

I’m always amazed at how little gear the CHP motorcycle cops wear. I definitely wouldn’t want to go chasing after anyone if I were only wearing khakis and a chintzy little half helmet!

As a lone biker, I got pulled up, threatened, and run out of town by a bunch of drivers. Because, and this was their actual claim, some person had at some previous date, tried to entice some kid into a car.

I was riding a KZ200 at the time.

Where’s a Ducati when you need one?

You’re done!

It seems to me that The Bronze needs to step up their game.
