I have asked about this before on here but it was a long time ago and a run of other story id threads encouraged me to try again.
Here is what I remember:
The story was read to me in a creative writing class in the early 90s but it was from a book of short stories; it wasn’t written by someone in the class. The lesson was on perspectives and this story was from the perspective of a fish. It used very simplistic language and grammar to suggest the simpler brain of a fish and it was mostly about how the fish would compete with its brothers and sisters for food. It repeated a line like, “I am hungry; I must eat” over and over.
Any one recognize this?
