South Dakota - “Deadwood” (3 seasons)
North Carolina - “Eastbound & Down” - (2 seasons, and just announced a 3rd… though most of season 2 took place in Mexico)

Presumably because all the other residents of Cabot Cove had been murdered?
If Warehouse 13 can hold on for another season, it will at least tie that.
See post 10.
For South Carolina … Army Wives? Srsly?
I don’t get that Wiki page. It lists 41 shows set in New York State, and 231 shows set in New York City.
mmm
Georgia-“Designing Women” (unsure of run length)
And Little House on the Prairie at 9 or 10.
Pennsylvania - “The Office” (7 seasons and counting)
If we want to count soaps, The Young and the Restless has been on for 37 years and counting.
Thanks! I kneaded to know that!
Most people didn’t realize Drew Carey was on that long, because a half season into a two year renewal ABC yanked it off the schedule and burned off the remaining eps in the slums of the following two summers.
Anyway, I don’t know how many years, but I think Home Improvement has to be a strong contender for longest series set in MI.
8 seasons for Home Improvement, which I believe puts it in the lead for Michigan. Ahead of **Sister, Sister **(6 seasons) and **Martin **(5 seasons).
A few more guesses, correct me if I’m wrong on them:
Rhode Island - “Family Guy” (9 seasons)
Utah - “Big Love” (Upcoming 5th season will be its last)
Missouri - “Grace Under Fire” (5 seasons)
Wyoming - “The Virginian” (9 seasons)
Delaware - “The Pretender” (4 seasons)
I am fairly sure Daniel Boone is the leader for Kentucky with 6 seasons.
Followed closely by The Dukes of Hazzard at 6 seasons.
Indiana - “One Day at a Time” - 9 season
Missosuri – Petticoat Junction (7 seasons)
sister series Green Acres ran for 6 seasons, but they were concurrent so I don’t think you can total them up for 13 season.
Just thought of another one.
California – Dragnet(15 seasons in various incarnations plus radio and movies)
The original CSI is in its 11th season. Has it got 3 more left in it, I wonder?
I think both Green Acres and Petticoat Junction left it ambiguous as to which state they were set in.
