This morning I went out to my garden to count my baby 'maters, like I do every day. But today I got lucky and stepped on this. It managed to bypass my flip-flop, and jab into my instep.
I didn’t need stitches, but had to get a tetnis <sp?> shot. I bled like a stuck pig, so it probably won’t get infected.

Any ideas what this thing is?
It’s metal and the picture is double the actual size. When my husband plowed the garden, he found all kinds of junk (batteries, spark plugs, glass, bolts), I thought we had cleared it all out.
Well, if you have tons of junk, it could be just about anything. It looks a bit like a rake tine (although it is a little bit pointed for that). Thinking smaller, it could be a hand cultivator tine. Those come in hundreds of different shapes, from something that resembles tiny angle-iron to actual claws.
The good news is that tetanus shot is good for a couple of years. (10, I believe.) So at least you won’t have to go through that again for a bit.
But, I totally feel your pain. I stepped on a piece of rusty chicken wire once. MY GOD! THE PAIN! I have a nice little hole in the bottom of my foot from it, too.
that is one nasty thing. i think this calls for you to sit down, keep your foot up, and have some one bring you ben and jerry’s and ice tea for a goooood long time.
YEEEEOOWWWWCH!
On examining the picture, I can authoratively state that what you have there is a claw from one of the giant titanium Saber-tooth Grizzlies that roamed the states a few years ago… until they were hunted to extinction shortly after the beginning of the industrial revolution. The search for raw materials claimed many victims.
