Howdy Y’all! We got shorn, procured and stowed provisions and et lunch at Waffle House. Waffle house at eleven-thirty a.m. is almost civilized. I had poke chops, cheesy aigs, scattered, covered, and smothered hash browns, and raisin toast. YUM! Needless to say nappage was sorely needed. We also day drank. Today is buy a Priest a beer day, so three of us conspired to have a six pack of Yuengling sittin’ on his desk this mornin’ before he got there. There were pretty bows around each bottle and a card from us. The beer buyer told the other two of us to just throw a couple dollars in the peppermint fund. There’s a bowl of peppermints on the Parish Administrator’s desk that everybody helps themselves to. There is also an unofficial fund (some of us who from time to time contribute some $$) to keep the supply goin’. I think that’s a worthy cause.

MOOOOOOM you have made both of my functionin’ brain cells bump into each other. I now have a reminder to call and schedule covid and flu shots for OYKW and me. CVS is our go to place for that bein’ as it’s closest to us.

Sticky_Buns I am sure things will go (well, went by now) well. Plus you got to go to a favorite fast food place. A treat is always a good thing!

FlyBoy also remember to carry an umbrella in case there’s fallin’ space junk.

Taters hope Mr. Taters continues to do better. The HOA meetin’ sounds about what I would expect. Still glad we don’t have a HOA.

MetalMouse I don’t know. It takes years of bein’ slothful to reach my level. One must commit to the sloth and stick to it.

Mollie OYKW and I are happy we found each other. Neither of us could imagine anybody else puttin’ up with either one of us. Plus he gives good snuggles.

JtC glad you got you got your paint remix gratis. DGs everywhere seem to be that way. We have a fancy one (DG Market) near us and it’s really hard to find someone for checkout at times. I am sure lots of stuff just walks right out of there. OYKW and I could never do that cause we were raised right. Last time da cave was painted OYKW told me whatever I think is fine. I wanted to be mad, but since I already knew what I wanted I couldn’t be.

Coppertone hugs to you. Anniversaries can be hard.

I grew up in Chicago. Back in the olden days, like half a century ago, Jay’s potato chips came in a box with two sleeves of chips. Those were the best. And around this time, Jay’s put pencils in each box of chips for back to school. The pencils were white and had the Jay’s logo on them. Lots of people reminisce about those pencils.

Ursala Kitteh is emotionally exhausted from her trip to the VET. Her new spot to nap is behind my craft desk in the spare bedroom. I just sat down at it and heard her squawk. I’m like where are you? I looked down and see a little ball of black fur between the stuff under the desk and the wall. Whatevs. Catz is weird.

red - the truck is an '09 - I can’t imagine a recall on such an old vehicle. But I checked and the only ones are on airbags. I’m pretty sure we dealt with that some years back.

FCD is seeing the vampire in the morning. I’m thinking about taking Otis to the DIY dog wash. Or not. For now, I think it’s sleepy time, since I woke around 4. Dammit.

I had missed my bus after dr so I figured I may get something to eat as there were storms predicted which would make me miss church dinner.
Of course the storms never materialized.
So the only food place to go without crossing the street was Subway.
Been years since I went to one.
Is it affordable?
Apparently they have four 6 inch subs for 4$!
I got the blt.
I prefer the tuna but it was 7$.

Every time someone at work is dispatched to Gordon’s (a wholesale food supply, open to the public) for produce, and water for us, there’s always a coupla extra bucks provided, for either ice cream, or mixed boxes of various chips.

YAWN ‘Tis 75 Amurrkin out and mostly clear with a predicted high of 90 and partly cloudy, but becomin’ cloudy late afternoon with a chance of rain around six p.m. We shall see. The big item on today’s agenda is a doc appointment at eleven a.m. After that who knows. Well, there will be sloth for sure. Sup will be majik intartoobz pizza and sallit just because.

shoe daytime Waffle House is a whole other place. No fights. No loud arguments. Why it’s almost genteel and sophisticated!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I shall purtify and don attire acceptable for bein’ amongst the great unwashed. I can wait a while before I must wear presentable garb, so there’s that, I guess.

Taters I’m sorry to hear Mr Taters is still feeling rough, I hope he is improving a bit today.

metalmouse Yes, the tin can is a small mobile place to sell food from. It’s cooked elsewhere, and delivered to the tin can, and supplies are replenished as needed. I’ve often seen Grandma coming by with a little shopping cart full of fresh samosas!

Herald a spin class is stationary cycles :slight_smile: My gym calls it “Cycle Revolution” which perfectly describes peddling furiously and getting nowhere. And…happy anniversary!

Yesterday was very busy but we made it to the end and everything got done. Our workshop was productive, even TM had things to say although much of hers needs to be decoded. I know what she said, and I know what she meant, they are not the same thing. I got home at a reasonable time, and did what I needed to do before providing both dinner and pudding. The leftover custard got eaten along with the two little desserts (they were golden syrup sponge, not the sticky toffee pud I thought I’d got). 'im indoors was happy because he preferred syrup sponge.

He has been busy digging up the roots and whatnot in the garden. Yesterday he showed me a broken cat collar he’d found and asked if I thought it had belonged to one of our cats. I said it could have been one of Shadow’s old ones, I always bought him fancy ones with a nice design on them (always the snap-off ones, in case he caught it on something) but this one had a circular plastic bit on it that did not look familiar. A while later, he found an airtag in the garden so I think that belonged to the collar, but no idea which cat had it because it definitely wasn’t one of ours. We have nothing to do with Apple products of any sort in our house, unless they be pies.

Today is starting with 71 Ferrets, going close to 90 with maybe some rain. Or maybe not. FCD has left to be vampired, since it’s supposed to be fasting blood. His preferred root beer is on sale at Food Lion and once he gets home, I’ll head to Charlotte Hall and get some.

On the bill for the truck repair, nearly half of the cost was for the O2 sensor - because it’s manufactured in Canada. Dammit. Thanks, Uncle Donnie… But the repair cost waaaaaaay less than a replacement truck would, and considering how little it’s driven, it should be good for another decade. I hope.

I have a few things I need to do today, but no major plans. If I get motivated enough, I’ll take Otis for a DIY bath. He’s kinda cruddy.

For now, tho, I’ve got websites to visit. Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was a very long day. Today will be much shorter and broken up into parts because the second student has a doctor’s appointment during our normal lesson time so I’m going later in the afternoon. And in the midst of everything I have to finish typing my session notes and my board meeting notes from the last meeting.

But for now I have to finish getting ready for the day and work on establishing some order in the workspace.

I didn’t hear the coffee chime this morning. I only got up a little bit late, and figured I just slept through it. I fed the cats, turned on the morning news, mashed up an avocado and put some bread in the toaster, and went to draw a cuppa joe. The urn was empty. The reservoir was full. The coffee grounds were dry. The Ninja Fresh Brew Coffee Maker did not work.

This is actually our second Ninja coffee maker. I’d bought it because the quality of Mr. Coffee coffee makers had deteriorated so much. (It used to be, Mr. Coffee couldn’t die. Then we got a couple that failed after a couple of years.) The first Ninja lasted almost a year and a half. It failed not long after the warranty expired. They replaced it anyway. This second Ninja lasted… a year and a half. Now, I don’t know about you, but I think a $90 coffee maker should last at least a decade. Fortunately, we have a Hamilton Beach coffee maker that I bought for $10 at Goodwill when the first Ninja died. I also have a Black & Decker that I got for $5 at Salvation Army that I bought for my office in Belltown. (No, I didn’t ‘donate’ it to the company when I was made redundant.)

Good morning all. I didn’t post last night because I actually watched the tackleball game (or at least the 2nd half) last night and plumb forgot. Guess it was my day for forgettin’, I also left my hearing aid in it’s carrying pod (I take it out so it doesn’t get too sweaty) at the gym, but fortunately it was right there on the bench where I had left it. So hopefully I have done my dumbth for the week and will remember everything else (no bets on it, however…). Have soccer practice this evening with the littles (5-6 year olds) and need to check the digital coupons for the usual Firday Kroger shopping, but otherwise nothing much on the agenda. Weather is more of the same, 78F heading to 93F and no rain in sight.

And got a fair amount of catching up to do and no time like the present so…

Mollie, thanks for the morning sunrise. And enjoy the Road Trip. And I buy a bag of Lays on Super Bowl Sunday and finish it all that day, it is my one-time-a-year blowout that I treat myself to. And on the topic, anyone remember Charles Chips in the big can? I have one of those cans in my house, use it for the cooking utensils I want at hand.

Coppertone, hope the Gastro can help. And {{{hugs}}} for a melancholy anniversary.

We have a Costco about 3 miles away but (1) I’m already a BJ’s warehouse member and (2) as a single guy I don’t need stuff in mass quantities, so may never get there.

Hello, Thursday! I slept badly. I was coughing a lot. Finally, I got up at 3:30, and I used the albuterol “rescue inhaler,” and that solved it. That’s an unusual flare-up. Most of the time, the daily maintenance asthma drugs keep it under control.

Today is allergy shot day, so we’ll head to Mishawaka for a jab and a trip to Coldstone for ice cream. After that, Mrs. Nott has a meeting with the departing HOA treasurer, who will hand over the books and paperwork. There might be a secret treasurer’s handshake, but I don’t want to know about that.

It’s the vaccine time of the year, so we have to set up a time at the drugstore to get jabs for flu and COVID.

I didn’t quite get caught up reading posts. Gotta go.

It’s 57F and clear, and sunrise is one minute away. The forecast calls for cloudy to mostly cloudy skies with a daytime high of 70F.

Johnny, sorry to hear about the death of another coffee maker. I have my old carafe-style coffee maker on the top shelf of the pantry in case my Keurig ever bites the dust. I also have a French press and pour-over systems, but all three alternatives to the Keurig require actual coffee beans, and I don’t have any at the moment.

BooFae, I’m glad the meeting/workshop was productive and that even TM had some points of merit to make.

Red, I’m glad you’re home, but I’m sorry your neighbor is still an asshole.

Costco isn’t too far from me, and I’ve been an Executive member for longer than I can remember. I do use it, even if it’s just me and the husband now. I buy TP and paper towels there, along with dog treats, printer ink, and sometimes nice shirts or comfy lounge pants. Diet Coke is usually pretty reasonable, too. I sometimes buy a big pack of pork chops and seal each chop individually for later meals, and they often have prime cuts of beef that look great, so I treat us to a nice ribeye. I cannot, however, come home without Doritos for my husband. They have larger bags there, and are more worthwhile to purchase.

It’s obvious the Seahawks won against the Pats last night. The assholes were letting off fireworks, which meant a miserable few hours for Maisie (and me) because it takes her forever to come down from the fear those things produce.

Mr. Taters got up briefly late yesterday morning, but after a couple of nibbles of toast, he threw up and went back to bed. He slept hard for several hours, and got up around 5:00 p.m. looking and sounding much better. He actually managed to eat a little soup and keep it down, but went to bed around 7:00 p.m. He felt better, but was so tired. I can’t blame him; he had a rough couple of nights and days.

Since I didn’t want to disturb him, I didn’t do much of anything but sit around yesterday. I went outside yesterday and picked up dog poo (I do this every day because of the flies), and raked up their side of the yard to gather the stones and sticks that accumulate in the grass, along with the few fallen leaves.

As for today, I guess I’ll play it by ear. My file cabinet arrived, and the box is so heavy that I’ll have to open it downstairs and carry the pieces to what will become my office. It’s fine where it is right now, because there is no point in doing that until the new desk arrives and we break down the old desks in the den and haul them to the dump.

I had a night full of disturbing, irksome dreams; they woke me up several times because I was so annoyed.

I guess, for now, it’s time for more coffee and some internet browsing. Please take care of yourselves.

Good morning, everyone! I got up with my walking alarm, looked at the time, said “fuck that,” and went back to bed. I have my last appointment for the clinical study I’m taking part in. I should get a decent sized check, and will be clear to start the GAHT. I’m really going to have to develop better sleeping habits as I start puberty 2.0.

I have vague memories of Charles’ Chips being sold in large tins.

BJ’s is definitely better for smaller households, but our Costco Executive Membership still pays for itself, so we’re keeping it.
