Looking for a Civil Rights tv show or movie from the 70s or 80s

The scene that stuck in my memory:

A young or middle-aged black female teacher sometimes did teach their students about slavery and other injustices of the past, not in secret, but in the open. Someone did complain about the teaching of that history, and one day the white administration and some white parents came to check what “bad teaching” was taking place.

The teacher was told threateningly that they would stay to check what she was teaching. It was clear to all that the reason was to dismiss her for any words said outside what the history book said (since the time the tv show was placed was from the 50s to the 60s, that history book omitted a lot of inconvenient history).

Instead of sugarcoating or teaching to what the bigoted group was expecting, the teacher decided to be dismissed by not hiding the truth. It was a short lesson that the white guys did not appreciate very quickly. Of course, she was dismissed.

As I was just coming to America, there was a lot I did not understand in English, and I remember seeing that scene on TV around the early 80s. Anybody remembers that scene and what TV show or movie it was?
