On web pages they sometimes display transparent pictures over text to prevent the selection of the text. There is at least one add-on that allows the selection tool to ignore the transparent picture, and select the text, which I then copy to be read by my text to speech program. Do you know which add-on it is, or can you find it. My word recall is a bit messed up so I can’t get the search to find it on the Firefox site. On another day I might recall a crucial term that would pop this to top of a search list, but I’d like to have this sooner than later.
I ran across one last night that reminded me I didn’t have the plug-in any longer. Since it was only a half page I read what I wanted and closed it. i have no idea what the URL was.
If my brain was able to recall enough to explain this better, I’m sure I could find the plug-in. I’m just hopping for somebody that uses it to go, I know that plug-in.
Apart from add-ons, using control-A to select all of the text on the page may still work, which you may then dump into something like notepad for further manipulation. Also, if it’s a short snippet you want, you may be able to select the text from the source listing without too many intervening tags. You might also turn off images and redisplay the page.
