Looking for a good 2 player video game

For PS2 or Super Nintendo - either.

We have a ton of 1 player games, but need some good two player games that aren’t too involved. In other words, you can pick them up quickly and have a good old time

SSX… smuglers run… both fun 2 player games… for PS2

Burnout 2 - great racing game for 2 player

Star Wars Jedi Starfighter - missions are cooperative

I’ll also throw in Baldur’s Gate - Dark Alliance. It is pretty involved, but you’ll love playing it. Easy hack and slash RPG.

You may also enjoy one of the PS1 “Worms” games - great multiplayer fun. You may remember the old DOS game “Scorthed Earth” - same concept, but w/ worms instead of tanks.

If you don’t own Super Mario Kart, you’re practically a criminal.

I’ll throw a second in for Baldur’s Gate. My friend Dan and I wasted a couple weekends on that one. Gauntlet is similar but definitely not as good. I still pull out You Don’t Know Jack for PS1 as well.

Do you not like sports games?

Just about anything from EA Sports is good if that’s what you’re lookin’ for, big buddy.

Otherwise, that new SSX3 is a sick weapon, as will be the new Rally Car Racing game that is shortly going to be in Europe (there’s some guy’s name involved as well… Colin something).

I shoud mention that the rally racin’ game will be released here in the USA next spring.

I’ve been having a blast lately playing “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King” with a friend of mine. It’s pretty much just cooperative ass-whupping.

You could also probably find any number of Bomberman games. I believe Super Bomberman 4 for Snes was pretty good. It’s always good clean fun to get a friend over and blow him up.

heh, this is going to sound good:
The Adventures of Cookie and Cream, for the PS2. quite possibly the best co-op game there is. it’s very unique and challenging, and also quite hilarious to look at. very easy to pick up, but difficult to master (also depends on who you play it with).

SNES:
Super Mario Kart
Super Bomberman (it used to come with a 4 player multitap for 4 player action)
Secret of Mana (a 3 player diablo style RPG)

Joe and Mac for SNES

PS2:

Any of the Bust-A-Move (a.k.a. Puzzle Bobble) series
Fantavision
Frequency (or Amplitude)
Gran Turismo 3
NBA Street
Quake III Revolution
Wipeout Fusion

TimeSplitters 2. The single player levels can be played cooperatively, if slightly stunted. The multiplayer is really where it shines, with CP bots and an array of lively characters. However, much of the multiplayer stuff needs to be unlocked via the single-player “Challenge” and “Arcade” modes.

Any kind of fighting game makes for quick and easy two player fun. I’d suggest Street Fighter, because I really love it, but the Tekken series is also pretty good.
