I’m wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a keyboard stand. I need to be able to tuck my MIDI keyboard away under my computer desk. As the desk has drawers the available vertical space is limited (24"). The keyboard has 48 keys and is about 3 1/2" high so the stand needs to be 20" maximum.
Any ideas? So far all of the dedicated keyboard stands I’ve seen have been too high and other possible stands such as heavy duty laptop stands have been too low.
2 thoughts come to mind. A very large (or possible two) under the desk keyboard racks that would have to be rigged to accept some type of supports (which you’d have to make yourself) to lay the keyboard on.
A drawer set with glides similar to those found in kitchen cabinets. Mount it upside down so that the drawer bottom functions as a table surface and pull it out when you need to use the keyboard. They’re not very heavy, so it can be a regular kitchen drawer.
I probably should practice what I preach; I have my midi keyboard, inconveniently right in the middle of my office on its own keyboard stand. It IS 88 keys, so pretty long to stow away, but I’m sure I could come up with something if I had the desire…
