I’m looking for a movie that I saw a part of a long time ago.
Premise: a group of people, complete strangers to one another, get invited to an island where they’re lodged at a luxury compound. The host of the “party” tells them that they have an hour to run before he sics his trained assassins on their asses.
Sound familiar? Please share the wealth!
Thanks!
They just reran that on the Simpsons “Treehouse of Horror” last night.
The movie you mean was probably a version of the classic story “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell. It appears there was a film by that name released in 1932, and the plot has been used many other times.
One variant, set IIRC in the late 1950’s, of the basic story aired on TCM a while back. Two Americans crash-land on a remote jungle while on their way to another location for, IIRC, an archeological (or paleontological?) dig (the woman’s a scientist; the man’s her pilot). I think this was set in a remote part of Mexico, or somewhere in Central or South America.
Unfortunately, the island’s unsophisticated native population is dominated by a pair of Nazi war criminals. As the man slowly susses out who they are (he was in WWII and one of the Germans looks familiar to him, but he can’t quite place him – at first), the Germans plot to kill them…
hmm close, but no cigar…
It is most likely an adaptation of the most dangerous game,
but for the life of me I can’t find anything on this movie on the net…
I can’t remember any of the characters, nor even a fragment of the title…
Thanks all the same
