Looking for a Muslim-friendly printing of Gibran's The Prophet

It’s for my young Yemeni-American friend, and his wife who was raised in Yemen. Ideally I would like to find a copy in both English and Arabic. (so they can both read it.) I even bought a copy in English for him BUT-------

I totally forgot about the drawings in the book! They are really quite inoffensive line drawings, but they are of nudes and he says that wouldn’t fly with her, which I totally understand. I don’t want her to think I’m trying to give her husband porn, I just want them, as young newlyweds, to have access to this beautiful perspective on life.

So, is there a copy extant with no pictures? I have looked on both Ebay and Amazon, but I can’t tell for sure. There is an “Arabic version” which appears to be in English and also appears to have different pictures, but when I tried the “look inside” feature, there was still a naked guy.

Does anyone know for sure if there’s a text-only version in either language or both?

NEVER MIND! [/emily latella]

It’s in the public domain; I found a plain-text version at Project Gutenberg. Yay!

What the hell is “muslim friendly?”:smack:
This might surprise you, but as newlyweds they will probably be exposed to a lot of nudity. Live even.

yeah but even just plain nudes are well unclean for lack of a better term for most Muslims
