Right now, I’m using Yahoo! websites, which I like well enough (pretty cheap, lotsa space, no service problems). But I have a mess of domains I’m managing. Four currently, plus a few friends for whom I have to do everything anyway. So does anyone know of a good web host who meets the following:
hosts multiple domains (capacity for at least a dozen, to start) in one volume on the server
costs from $60-75 per month.
I’m not doing anything fancy–no high traffic, no extremely large amounts of storage needed, no dedicated server or anything; dynamic server stuff (ColdFusion, ASP, etc.) isn’t necessary, but would be a nice bonus.
Here’s a company I deal with you can check out. I’m happy with the service they have. They’re relatively small, so they can be flexible. Also, they’re very responsive and relatively cheap. If you go with them, tell them Bill Hunt sent you.
I am in the process of moving my site from Earthlink over to them (in fact, Network Solutions just transferred my domain name over today). Eight bucks a month, no setup fee. The site looks pretty good, and I’m joining based on a friend’s recommendation. Signing up was easy, they had my space ready within six hours (they e-mailed me within 90 minutes to say they had a problem and would let me know when it was ready).
Only problem I had was in ftping files from DreamWeaver over to my site, but I won’t know if it’s a serious problem until tonight (now that the name’s in place; DW may have gotten confused dealing with only the IP number).
Yahoo’s GeoCities just announced a similar Web hosting plan, although I can’t speak for their quality or for details.
