I saw a shirt in a store here in town but they didn’t have it in my cat’s size and they didn’t know if/when they were getting any more. It was just a black t-shirt that had “SECURITY” in white block letters on the back. I’ve been looking at Google and sites that I know that sell animal shirts but haven’t found it yet. I figured some of you might know of good sites that sell that kind of thing, that you could suggest.
Cory looks good in shirts and when we have parties or whatever a little “SECURITY” shirt would just be hilarious. He doesn’t mind wearing them at all–he’s totally indifferent.
I found a dog shirt that looks like what I want but the one I saw at the store was specifically a cat shirt and so if I can find that I’d rather buy that. The sizing on the dog shirts goes from “4-9lbs” to “10-26lbs” and Cory is probably about 12lbs, so the small would be snug but the medium probably too big…
Cafe Press has a lot of security dog shirts; their sizes tend to run small, too (I got a shirt for my golden retriever from them, who’s very slim, and it was almost too small for him even though it was the correct size), so you’d probably be okay getting one in the 12-25 lb size. But they have exact dimensions on their size charts to help you out.
ETA: Your cat looks wonderful in a shirt, by the way! Mine would KILL me if I tried to put one on her!
Yeah I know, I sell dog shirts through CafePress myself–but they’re white shirts. I want a black one with white lettering. I’d rather not have to have it made if I can avoid it. I’d be a lot more likely to get the dog one and hope it fit.
The whole cats-in-shirts thing came about quite honestly, by the way. It started with us putting little x-small dog shirts on my cat Ding while she was healing from a surgery on her chest. It kept her from licking it. They looked so darn cute and Cory is such a laid-back cat that we decided to see if he would care if we put one on him. He totally didn’t care. He also didn’t mind this fluffy red and white collar with jingle bells at Christmas, either. (That’s Ding next to him, by the way, in her “party dress” shirt.) Nor did he mind the jingly jester collar at Halloween.
Coventry Cats says he has one dog one in stock, size extra small, that is sized for a chihuahua for $15, but he doubts it will fit a cat because “it’s cut for a dog”
Coventry Cats is where I saw the shirt in the first place! Haha! And Ding wore the x-small dog sized shirts, and they fit her well–Cory is much bigger than Ding and so I know that dog size x-small would not fit him. The other shirts that we have for them (both of them) are all actually dog shirts, so while a cat shirt will probably fit better, a dog shirt does fit ok.
