I remember reading a recipe for apple noodle kugel that sounded good. But now I can’t locate it.
It’s a long shot but I was hoping maybe I had first heard about if here on the board. And if not, as an even longer shot, maybe somebody would recognize the recipe anyway.
The two things I remember in specific about this recipe was that it was made with canned apple pie filling rather than apples. And one of the last steps was pouring cream or milk over the kugel after you had put it in the pan and right before you put it in the oven to bake.
I wish I had my grandmother’s recipe (she was illiterate*, so never wrote it down). But I know it didn’t contain anything like prepared vanilla pudding or vanilla wafer cookies. And, unless I’m confusing this with something else, I vaguely remember it containing raisons.
*In a pre-USSR Belarus *shtetl, *girls were taught many things, but not literacy.
