Looking for...footage of people dumping dead rats into piles?

Rats and/or mice, actually.

It’s for an upcoming video project of mine—actual footage or faked (like from a movie) would do, but about the only bit I’ve been able to find is a (VIEWER WARNING: Footage of Lots of Dead Mice) low-resolution, mostly covered by a title card clip from a Guinness World Records special a few years back, featuring the Australian mouse plague of 1993.

I’ve had no luck on YouTube or AP’s video archive so far, I’m afraid. I don’t suppose anyone here could point me in the right (if admittedly hideous) direction? I’d be much obliged.

I saw a documentary a few years ago about low-caste rat catchers in Bihar State in India which showed plies of dead rats, iirc. I can’t access it because I’m in the UK but this video may include suitable footage. It might even be the same piece I watched.

You know life is good when your complaint is that the only footage you can find of people dumping dead rats is low-res.

There’s a very brief scene in The Terminator of a kid in the underground shelter turning in a dead rat for a reward.

I hear ya. Though I’m not sure if it counts as a “first world problem” or a particularly grim “fourth world problem.”

A few years back on Nova (PBS) they had a documentary about rat/pest swarms that appear every ~50 years. Traced it to bamboo forests flowering. I know there are images of massive quantities of rat tails that are collected for bounty collection, but I don’t recall rat piles in particular. But feel free to watch video yourself.

If rats killed by violence is ok, there’s a number of videos available.

First, there’s dog hunts. These seem like a British thing but they use terrier breeds to exterminate infested areas. Here’s a clip which will load to the dead rats pan shot.

There’s also a hobby/profession where people with pellet guns and night vision stake out barns and other rat infested areas and hunt the rats for hours. They sometimes collect them for a head count after the hunt is done. Here’s a clip that has, well, buckets of dead rats.

Therre may be some with people actually dumping the rats from buckets, I didn’t spend too long looking.

I never imagined that a Google video search for “dead rats” would lead to so many music videos.
