First off, thank you to the SDMB administration for giving me the “OK” to post this.
I have recently started a [meant to be, anyway] humor website basically for a creative outlet. The main slant is the same as that other parody website (They don’t take submissions from Jane Ordinary so I decided to try it myself). I’m also going to try to do other things as well, like reviews and cartoons.
Right now, I am looking for contributions to the “news” page, as well as “Letters to the Editor.” The site doesn’t credit authors – it’s really just for fun and not anything that will bring worldwide (or even neighborhood, really) recognition. Please check it out if you are so inclined.
You’ve put a comma after the dot com - that’s why it doesn’t work. Try this
Why no credit for the writers? Being able to cite a pub credit (even one on the net) is a big incentive - also the only incentive when money isn’t on offer…
I am actually totally open to this. For some reason, I was tied into the whole annonymity of the web, but if it does matter (especially as incentive) then I WILL credit writers. Are there other opinions on this?
Yea, I won’t write without credit (unless you’re paying very well!), but I’d consider doing some articles for ya with a byline. Even if it’s a nonsensical one, i.e. “GMRyujin, reporting for FickleNews in between coffee breaks”
Yeah, I’m up for it. I’ll have to try and remember to e-mail you when I get home from work. In the meantime, if you’re interested, there’s links on page 2 of the thread linked to in my sig for reviews I did of Crossroads with Brittany Spears and Exorcist II. I would link to them directly, but I’m at work and they have the browsers set up here so I can’t see the address bar to cut & paste the url for a link.
