Looking for mail client recommendations

Please don’t just blurt out ‘Thunderbird’ - I’ve tried it and although it’s good, it doesn’t appear to have the features I need. However, please feel free to offer Thunderbird as a solution if you can tell me how to set it up to work in the way I want…

I’m looking for a mail client that, like Outlook, can be configured to have several different modes of connection to several different accounts (Outlook handles these as profiles) - each of them connecting, sending and receiving mail in their own way, but all of them depositing incoming items into the same inbox.

It’s for a laptop that needs to collect mail from a company mail server while on the LAN (and use the SMTP server provided there), but needs to dial a connection and use an ISP’s mail server. Native SMTP would be an absolute boon.

At the moment, the machine is configured to use OL2K, but it’s incredibly buggy and keeps getting items stuck in the outbox (whereupon it sends them repeatedly, much to the annoyance of the recipients).

Any suggestions? Looked like FoxMail would be suitable, but it just doesn’t actually seem to have all the features people are claiming it has.

Oh… and switching between the different modes of operation cannot involve invoking a setup/options dialog and changing the system settings back and forth.

Well, before I switched to Thunderbird, I used to use Eudora.

Aye. Eudora.

Another vote for Eudora.

Actually, I take it all back; Thunderbird has a profile manager. :smack:

Unconnected, but I’ve just switched to Firefox and Thunderbird here at home…
