Anybody know where I can get some really stereotypical bow-chikka-wow-wow porn music? Not actual porn music, but really exaggerated stereotypical stuff.
The problem is, porn hasn’t used that kind of music in about forty years. To me, it doesn’t represent porn at all, and I can’t understand the way it’s been so widely picked up as being so.
Actually, the stereotypical “porn” music is IMHO more like the soundtrack to blaxploitation movies. See this for instance:

This may be what I’m looking for:
(trying to talk my friend down) Tim, we go way back. We haven’t always agreed, but this is something I’m pretty sure the REAL Revtim would agree with: Making a porno is NOT a good way to bring the parish back into the black, though there’s a movie in it. Look at Jim Bakker. Yeah, Jessica Hahn was smokin’, but she not only did him wrong, but also DIDN’T MAKE HIM ANY MONEY!
And update your music, dude. Old crap like that will pigeonhole you as “retro,” which is a limited market.
Probably because being associated in many minds with “old school” 70s/early 80s porn (and yes, by the time I encountered porn in the early 80s the fat funk sound had been mostly replaced with ersatz disco-pop, so it’s often a misassociation) which in turn has an odd mystique as somehow more “authentic” or “classic” (Right. ) Either that or they want you to believe nobody has watched porn since Reagan took office or it’s a way you can pretend your interest in porn is retro or ironic, and not that you actually are a consumer) Anyway, cranking up music during sex scenes was as much to set a mood as it was to avoid having to mix sound for the scenes in post-prod (redubbing moans and groans are one thing, but do you really want to Foley-produce the** other **sounds going on?)
There’s a band that makes their own 70’s porn style music called The Sex-o-rama band. You can get their stuff on Itunes.
