Porn Music

Ok, this is a strange one but I need to get my hands on some of that funky music they play in Porn movies. Don’t pretend you haven’t seen them either. I have no idea where to look. Anyone have any ideas? I’m sure someone on Napster has some.

Thanks

Then why not check Napster for some?

Not like I have or anything.

Napster might point you to the most popular porno song of the late-1970’s, now known as “the Peoples’ Court theme.”

If you’re looking for just some serious, down-to-the-chicka-wawa funk action, the P-Funk gang taught the porno musicians everything they know. That would be Parliament, funkadelic, Bootsy [Collins’] Rubber Band (and New Rubber Band], and a host of other offshoots.

There’s a strong rumor that the Pietasters are going to record a soundtrack for a pornographic film, but it has yet to materialize.

ROTLFMAO!!! That music comes from a PORNO?! Hahahahahaha! ; D You just made my week. I’m in law school, and I was talking w/ some friends about finding “The People’s Court Theme” in MP3 and “accidentally” playing it really loud in class. Dunno what the prof will think… ; D

Say, Sofa King, do you know what band/group performed the original?

I know I have seen several collections on CD in the soundtrack section of my most beloved Amoeba records here in Berkeley. Although you can’t order off the site (I don’t think), here’s their site with some contact info:

The collections I’ve seen never mention the film titles, probably because the tracks have been used again and again. One has a blond chick in a 70s outfit with psychadelic background (I believe it’s an American collection), and I also know of a series (at least three parts) of music from Italian erotic films–all with the same brunette on the cover, dressed in black bra & panties, but in different poses. Sorry I don’t have the titles.

I’ll ask my friend but I know that there was a CD set available that was all porn music. It was available in the music chain store at the mall.

A lot of those porn themes weren’t “composed” but were simply bought from a jingle house. They’re cheap, don’t require paying royalties, etc. They have whole volumes of generic music tracks with titles like “bass track,” “brass section” and so on. Since no one is watching porn because of the music, all they’re really trying to do is get some background that reasonably matches the action on screen.

Sorry, AkashJ, I don’t know who the original recorder was. But if memory serves, the track used on Wapner’s show was identical to the track used in lots and lots of pornos. Unfortunately, I can’t name any titles.

One in particular had Ron Jeremy playing the role of “Huge Heiffer,” an adult magazine publishing magnate. He hires some “private investigators” to find a very talented young lady with a butterfly tatoo on her behind. It’s also the one with the famous “Double Dildo” song. You know, “double your pleasure, double your fun…”

Sorry, that’s the best I can do.

try “gert wilden & orchestra” or something to that effect. it’s a cd of german porn music from the 60’s and 70’s. great stuff, and most of it is derivitive of popular 60s music. you can hear some beatles, rolling stones, and the who influences.

the cd title is “schoolgirl report” it’s off of the record label called “crippled dick hot wax”, which is the best name of any record label out there.

most of the songs are 1:30-2:30 long…

I found the debbie does dallas soundtrack on Napster … I love it when it comes up in my play list!!

“The Satisfiers of Alpha Blue” uses it for the final orgy scene. My friends and I laughed our collective heinies off when we recognized the music.

Need a soundtrack for your home movies?

As a classical composer who has dabbled in the electronic music scene, I have been known to quote 70’s porn soundtracks in my music (particularly a little gem that was the theme song to the film “Shameless”). It’s really nice when someone recognizes it at a serious concert…
As for where to get it: beyond the obvious (finding an actual soundtrack), a lot of the music is just standard improvised sleazy jazz. It sometimes seems to be influenced by Miles Davis type stuff like Bitch’s Brew, so you might look for similar era freer jazz. Also, a really busy flute solo is obligatory, so you might look on the liner notes to make sure you have a flutist.
Ya’ll have fun now!

There are a couple collections out there :

Sex-o-rama Volumes 1 & 2 on Oglio Records
Deep Porn on Oglio Records.

Also lots availible on Napster. We needed some accompaniment music for, er, a talent show video in medical school…That inherently sounds dirty, but it really wasn’t (unfortunately).

Also, there is this really cool German album called “The Schoolgirl Report” (Schulmadchen Report) by Gert Wilden & Orchestra which is a porno soundtrack. I’ve seen it on a vinyl picture disc. A quick search of CDnow reveals other stuff by him.

Here’s the link for that Italian series I was talking about: http://www.crippled.com/soundtracks.html

Didn’t Pin Up or Telstar records have an album out a few years ago? Crap, now I gotta go dig through back issues of Flipside…

This reminds me of one of those “Behind the Scenes” TV shows on The Brady Bunch. Apparently Susan Olsen (Cindy Brady) used to fool around with a synthesizer (musically - you people are sick). A friend of hers who worked in the adult film industry used one of her recordings for the soundtrack to a movie. Thus began the “Cindy Brady has a porn credit” legend.

Why DO porn films have music? To raise the “production values”!? It seems to me that porn film-makers could spend their money more fruitfully by arranging to have informative “advisory” messages on the film box. For example:

[HP] = Has plot
[NP] = Does not have plot

[GL] = Watch this with your girlfriend and she’ll leave you
[GT] = … and then leave town
[GP] = … after calling the police

[RJ] = Features people you’ve almost certainly seen before

I’m sure I missed some important ones.

There is porn music in the movie to create mood. You know that something, or rather someone, will go down when the music hits. What I find surprising is that more often than not, the music is not so bad; often its the only thing of quality in the film/tape. Sometimes a porn movie uses classical music during the scenes. Ron Jeremy once played Chopin on the piano while he was, as otherwise a non-participator, in the middle of an orgy.
Others are more adventurous about using music in the film. At one extreme, Michael Ninn actually wrote 50’s–style music that was sung by the female star of his film (forgive me, I forgot what it was). Yes, it was needed for the film he did. At the other extreme, some directors don’t cue music at all during the acts in the films. One director that doesn’t is Max Steiner (although there is a wickedly demented version of “Pop Goes the Weasel” at the beginning of many of his films). Then there are those really quickie, bootleg-type films that don’t even bother to have music added.

Wow, I’m a virgin and I know all this.

Maybe its because you know…

I just don’t have the heart to complete it, capacitor.
