Looking for the original prayer that is the inspiration for "Be Thou My Vision"

Hi guys.

I need to find the original prayer, well after it was translated into english, that inspired the hymn “Be Thou My Vision”.

It is quite lengthy if I remember correctly. Any help would be appreciated!

It was translated from ancient Irish to English by Mary Elizabeth Byrne in 1905, if that helps.

Thanks for reminding me of that song. :slight_smile: It was my parents’ wedding hymn, and they just celebrated their twentieth anniversary last week.
