Looking for VR game/experience recommendations for my "holodeck"

Got an unexpected tax refund this year, so I finally did something I’ve been meaning to do for a long time and bought a VR-ready computer and an HTC Vive headset. As soon as the old treadmill is hauled out of the room, I’m going to be setting up my own personal “holodeck” (the Vive allows for experiencing VR while moving around in a room environment, rather than sitting in a chair).

Aside from some demos I did at the Microsoft store (which I loved!), I haven’t got a lot of experience with what’s out there, though, so I’m looking for recommendations. Here’s what I like:

  • Games (I’m using “games” as a shorthand, but it could also include experiences that aren’t games) that will help me exercise/get in shape.
  • RPGs.
  • Escape-room or mystery-type games
  • Atmospheric horror (exploring the haunted house rather than nonstop zombie shoot-em-up)
  • Any kind of exploration - heck, I’d love something where you could just navigate through beautiful scenery.
  • Gorgeous graphics are a huge plus.

What I don’t like:

  • First-person shooters (like Halo and Doom)
  • Anything too cartoony (though for a good enough game this would be okay)
  • Anything super hard or frustrating. This is supposed to be fun.
  • Military stuff

The machine’s pretty good–i7-8700k processor and NVidia 1080 ti 11gb graphics card–so it should be able to handle most/all of what’s out there.

Thanks for any recommendations!
