Looking to the East - An MMP

Haze, is a smart one too. Not giving **LOUNE ** what he wants. jots notes down

I…I didn’t do it! It was the hand!
grin

Yes, that’s right. Spare the whip and retaliate in like kind.

Clearly, my maternal skills are insufficiently threatening today. So now I’m going to have to get tough with you misbehaving miscreants:

Calm down and behave yourselves or I’ll tell Moooom on you! (Back me up here, please, FCM! ) You don’t really want to get a Stern Look, now, do you?

This is easily one of the most disgusting entries in this thread. <shudder>

I learned a valuable lesson about Cool Whip years ago - you gotta let it thaw at its own pace. If you try to hasten its softening with warmth, you get drippy goo that doesn’t taste quite right. I guess the air that’s whipped in adds to both texture and flavor.

And to those of you who don’t like Pumpkin Pie - GOOD! *MORE FOR ME!!! * :stuck_out_tongue:

I had to work over today to throw together a couple of slides for a VTC tomorrow (which will make me late tomorrow.) We let PapaJohn make supper, and in a few minutes, I’m going to don grubbies and adjourn to the basement for a few hours of decorative, um, decorating. I’m tired, but I gotta get at least a little done. Too much to do and little time to do it. Alas…

Directs *The Look * as necessary. Now knock it off!!

Notice how mom didn’t yell at me…
That means that phase 2 goes into effect.
knocks over another lamp

Sure am glad I was working and stuff today and not getting involved in all this groping and stuff.

Right.

I’m in a cranky mood, a couple of my people -ok one of my people is up to her old tricks. She’s got diarrhea of the mouth, never stops making a point after the 14th time, and tends to just go off on people she has no reason to go off on. Yesterday she did it to another person here - MY secretary. Big, big mistake.

Then, when I called her yesterday - I was working off-site where it’s quiet so I could get some work done - she ignored me and never showed.

Around these parts, we call insubordinate, so she’s getting seriously whacked with the warning letter. She so much as makes a face at someone funny again, she’s gonna be looking for work.

So, I spent the morning in a meeting with one of the bosses then called it a day. Went to the gym, now home and I’m catching up on e-mails while cats purr at my side.

but you’re going to try it when no one is looking, aren’t you?

Note to clients: please don’t tell me you’re bringing in a black-and-white terrier mix when said dog turns out to be a fat Yorkie, and I didn’t see her come in so when I am sent back to get the terrier, I’m not sure which one since there’s two other dogs which are black and white and one totally not black and white terrier. I’m still not really good at figuring out some small dog breeds apart, and it was really embarassing when I brought out the Shih Tzu instead of the terrier. (It was small, and black and white, and not having run into those pups before I thought maybe that was the “terrier mix.”) So don’t lie to me about the dog that’s coming in!

puts burning paper bag of dog poop on FCM’s doorstep and runs away

Wow the troublemakers are out in force today! ::carefully sidesteps the mess::

I don’t like pumpkin pie either, but I do like pumpkin cheesecake, muffins, and Rachel Ray’s pumpkin sausage pasta. So pumpkin itself isn’t bad, but the stuff that gets put into a pie shell is pretty awful. (It’s a texture thing. I’ve got texture issues… among 5 zillion other issues.)

I’ve got 2 mortgage quotes and have emailed a 3rd person. KeithT’s going to contact another 2. Then we just have to decide if we’re actually going to do this! It’s exciting and scary at the same time. But we both really really really like the place. And the numbers look good. We could afford it and wouldn’t have to subsist on ramen for the next 2 years.

For those database folks in the audience, this cracked me up.

Evenin’ Y’all! Just a quick after supper, pre “appreciation” post. Yay’s, boos, hugs etc as needed. No gropes though. I’m savin’ ‘em up for ol’ y’all know who.

Oh and I hate pumpkin pie. Sweet N.O.T. is the best Thanksgiving pie, followed closely by Pecan. So There! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m bein’ summoned. Later Y’all!

That’s a good one.

For me, my general motto is:
SELECT * FROM users WHERE clue > 0;
0 rows returned

The silly thing is that we used to have a user named something along the lines of Charles T. Connell. Sounds innocent enough until that’s washed through our standard scheme of using the first 5 letters of the last name, followed by first and last initials to make an ID. When they changed departments, all sorts of mayhem happened when someone tried to drop user ID CONNECT from an Oracle system.

Sweet potatos… yech. And then there’s pecan pie. So sweet it makes my head hurt, and so fatal to DH. I don’t think there’s enough epinepherine in an Epi-Pen to let him have a piece of the stuff, seeing as a single unsuspecting bite of a chocolate chip cookie with pecans put him in the hospital a couple years ago.

One of the things I love most about the Fall is the return of pumpkin in all it’s glorious forms. Have you ever had the pumpkin spiced latte? Yum, it’s delicious!! Pumpkin ice cream rocks, and don’t get me started on pumpkin cheesecake. And of course there is the penultimate pumpkin pie, naturally with a dollop of whipped cream (or cool whip, which will do in a pinch). Oh god, now I’m almost drooling … LOL! I think I’ve got to get some pumpkin ice cream this weekend.

ems–for some reason, I want you to live in Ireland. Could you just move there so I won’t be confused anymore? Thanks–preciate it…

I need to do some grad school work, but I’m not going to. I’m off to wash my hair and just veg. I’m in some sort of funk. I do hope I snap out of it–it’s very dull.
Work tomorrow and next day. #2 son started cello lessons today. The cello is taller than he is!
Have great evenings (morning? nights?) folks.

Woo hoo! I am gainfully employed again! I verbally accepted the position this afternoon. FTR, they rounded the salary up. I’m feeling very bouncy this afternoon. ::Bounce, bounce::

Pumpkin’s tasty - Pumpkin pie, pumpkin ravioli, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin. If you type pumpkin long enough, it starts to look like a really dirty word. Pumpkin!

I received my dad’s discharge papers last night. They raise more questions than they answer, but things make more sense now. But there are things that I guess I’ll just never know. I’m OK with that.

On preview, so Herbs, what’s the *ultimate * pumpkin pie?
::d&r::

Congrats, Jahdra! :: bounces along with her ::

Well, it was a fairly successful studio session. I finished another monster, put ivory glaze on the two future caffeine mugs, decorated the big purple mug with sponged-on balloons, cleaned the underglaze mess off the waxed bottom parts of the mugs, and waxed the 3 dogs and 3 cats.

As for all the shenanigans, LOUNE, I’ve had it up to here [sup]-[/sup] with you and you’re about this >< close to getting one upside the head. So knock it off.

And Miss snowbunny, I must say I’m disappointed beyond words. I know your mother taught you better. Obviously she failed to beat you sufficiently… :stuck_out_tongue:

Incidentally rosie, no, I’m not a fan of sprinkles, and I can’t handle more than 2 spoons of unaccompanied Cool Whip. However, all this talk of pumpkin pies has me thinking that I should make a couple this weekend. For my sweetie. For medicinal purposes.

Congrats, Jah!!! <flinging confetti with wild and reckless abandon>

Let me answer that question, Jahdra. The ultimate pumpkin pie is from Whole Foods and contains both regular pumpkin filling and pumpkin mousse. It is to die for.

As you may have noticed, I am strongly pro-pumpkin. Pumpkin pie, pumpkin ice cream, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin soup (ooooh, I wonder if the restaurant around the corner has its pumpkin soup yet…yummmmmm), pumpkin gnocchi, candied pumpkin. Really can’t think of a pumpkin item I’m not fond of. Also, I am of the genuine whipped cream persuasion. I grew up with lots of Cool Whip, but was converted the year I lived in Germany. I add just a touch of sugar. Yum.

Congrats on the job, Jah! Yay! Yay! Yay!

I’m intrigued by your general motto, gotti, and would like to subscribe to your newsletter. (It really made me giggle…)

I will not be commenting on the serious overabundance of goosing and groping.

Came home exhausted again; felt crummy most of the day. My current ambition is to have two good days in a row; I seem to be alternating: one good day, one bad day.

Guess I’ll take a nap.
