Looks like I get to keep Lefty!

Good to hear! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you and for a smooth recovery.

Great news, ivylass!!! I’m so glad to read this! Continued good wishes.

Well now that you mention it…

Congrats, positive thoughts being sent your way.

Sadly, they most certainly do. But luckily it sounds like there is no need for such a radical ( ) measure.

I am so glad to hear it! And you’re attitude is just right- this thing isn’t going to beat you. Hell, it isn’t even going to put a dent in you!

I misspoke. I know radical mastectomies are still done (Bippy, bless her heart, is recovering from a bilateral mastectomy) but as the first treatment of choice it seems to be falling by the wayside. The oncologist told me the days of “oh, there’s a precancerous area…off with her boob!” are gone. That, plus the recovery rate isn’t any greater than a lumpectomy mean it’s not as necessary any more.

I think we’re getting there…the screenings, the treatments, the research…this is getting to be a very beatable disease.

Ivylass, I’m so glad for you!

great news!!!

I’m very glad that this is going to be relatively easy on you. Smart choice for taking the time off of work, and good luck. Take it as easy as you need to.

Your attitude is awesome. Hang in there, Lefty!

I’m so happy to hear the good news!

Excellent :).

Thank goodness it’s nothing that major. I’m sure that, in a few weeks, everything will be right as rain.

I’m really glad to hear that Righty won’t have to go through life lonely! Good thoughts and prayers still headed your way.

Great news, ivylass. My mother had what sounds like the same procedure two years ago, and came through it just great.

As I have on my T-shirt for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer: “Save the Boobs”

Good luck.

Congrats on the great news, ivylass!

Great news, I’m very happy for you.

Having been inspired to write the Mammogram song and post it on YouTube by the earlier threads I think it’s time to become reinspired and write a recovery song.

How about “The Ballad of Chemo and Lefty.”

Seriously though, always good to hear about a survivor.

My grandmother is 103, and she’s a 20-yr survivor!!!

Go ivylass!

Awesome news!

That’s wonderful! So happy for you, ivylass. I hope you have a speedy recovery.

Hooray for boobies!

Glad to hear that it looks like a clear road to recovery.
