For those of us who only speak American, the MOT test is the UK’s annual vehicle inspection. The kind of thing that’s a PITA because I have to make an appointment for the inspection, find someone to go with me to the place so they can drive me to work after I drop the car off, find someone to pick me up afterwards so I can get my car back - unless I can get it done on a Saturday and cool my heels for a few hours while they work on it.
In other words it tends to be the sort of thing one would be aware might pose an inconvenience, especially in regards to keeping appointments one makes oneself…
