Looney Tunes Golden Collection... HOW COULD YOU LEAVE OUT...?!

y Evening**
“Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal!”

What’s Opera Doc?
“Kiww the wabbit, KIWW THE WABBIT!”

Robin Hood Daffy
“Ho, ha-ha, guard, turn, parry, dodge, spin, ha! Thrust!”

Duck! Rabbit Duck!
“Look! I’m a fiddler crab! Why don’t you shoot me?! It’s fiddler crab season!”

Don’t get me wrong… there are a lot of qualitiy toons in there, but these seem like such no brainers… they were even referred to in the various documentaries in the collection. Sheeeeesh! I can only assume there will be a “Golden Collection” Volume 2 next year…

sigh…

Oh for crying out loud…
One Froggy Evening
“Hello my baby, hello my honey, hello my ragtime gal!”

Beanstalk Bunny

He’s Jack.

That’s exactly what they said they were going to do. There was a story a few months ago where they talked about how they had some 1500 cartoons of which 400 were great 100 were crap and whatever number they had for all the middle rankings. Anyway they said they didn’t want to blow everything in their first release. I’m guessing they wont blow it all in the 2nd release either.

Although the one I’m shocked about is “A Wild Hare.” Seems like a complete no-brainer to include the first real Bugs Bunny cartoon.

They didn’t want to shoot their wad on the first sets. Those classics will likely show up on further sets.

I wished they would have followed the laserdisc sets and issued the toons chronologically.

If they get brave, they can put all of the controversial toons in a separate set.

Robin Hood Daffy was included on the DVD of the 1930s Robin Hood.

There’s “Hillbilly Hare”…

Grab a fence post, hold it tight,
Womp your partner with all your might.
Hit him in the shin, hit him in the head,
Hit him again, the critter ain’t dead.
Wop him low and wop him high,
Stick your finger in his eye.

Open up the door and step right in,
Close the door and into a spin.
Whirl, whirl, twist and twirl,
Jump all around like a flyin’ squirrel…
