Not that we yet know whose “human remains” were found on the property - but in the event that ol’ Chad is responsible, how do killers live with the knowledge that dead bodies are rotting away on their property (or worse, buried in the basement or crawl spaces)?
Forensic Files has had multiple cases where victims were stashed in the basement, the backyard or in a well. In one case, a guy put his victim in a steel drum, found it was too heavy to maneuver and just left it in a basement storage area where it sat for many years. Eventually a new homeowner got the drum out to the curb for disposal, it was refused as weighing too much and someone took a look inside.
Or “out of smell, out of mind”, anyway. Psychopaths see people as objects, and what do you do with a broken object you can’t get rid of? You shove it in the basement somewhere.
What’s boggling my mind is the fact that the country is so royally fucked up right now that this royally fucked up story is pretty much being ignored. At any other time, this shit would have captivated the nation.
Yeah, why couldn’t they just tell the kids “You didn’t see it, you didn’t hear it, you’ll never tell anyone” and then the kids would become psychosomatically blind, deaf, and dumb and spend their lives playing pinball.
Money, for one thing. She kept cashing the disability and survivor benefit checks the children received. And Tylee wanted to move in with the grandparents and take JJ with her.
I believe Tylee if not Tyler and JJ are believed to have witnessed one of the murders.
Those poor kids. I’m not a fan of the death penalty, not even in this case, but I want Chad and Lori Daybell to understand and feel guilty about what they’ve done. Being found guilty isn’t enough, I want them to feel guilty. I want them to have to live with remorse every day. Unfortunately, I don’t think that will happen. They may be found guilty, but they’ll always justify it to themselves.
