Yes, all this was just too much for me—I’m out after watching the pilot just now. Disappointing.
And although I do prefer my science fiction hard, I don’t sweat it if the background or side elements are questionable. The problem here is that they were focused on all this stuff as the essential, “sciencey” dilemma they had to solve. So when you really shine that kind of light on something that’s so messed up, I can’t take it.
