There was a thread not long ago about the logo page that appears when you start Wikipedia.
I now can’t find the thread and wonder if they ever decided on an answer.
The answer was that it was an open book, the mountainous looking object is the binding arching up and the rays were the pages.
The thread was What the heck is the Wikipedia background image?
Welcome to the Board,
Jim
That’s the one, but they got the wrong answer. It’s clearly one of the other answers, the Great Wall of China.
I’ve located the exact angle view here for comparison. http://www.lehsd.k12.nj.us/users/dupuis/images/Great_Wall_of_China.jpg
Check the thread, someone found the full picture and it becomes very clear. Also you should probably just post in that thread. You will get a much better response. I was just passing by and remembered the thread you meant.
The link is in post #9
Jim
Yes, that’s goo advice, and in fact I had already posted to that thread, probably while you were composing your answer.
Well, since I read the thread, including post #9, I was like the others who said no way is that a book. The link in #9 proves it’s not a book, and is actually the Great Wall.
If you want to bet money on it, we can ask the Wiki folks. When I win, I will donate your bet to them.
No, it’s clearly, clearly, obviously a hardback book. I have absolutely no idea how anyone can see anything else. Look at it. Spine, binding, pages, tabletop, etc. Or are you referring to a different picture? If you aren’t, I’d be willing to take that bet.
It’s a book; case closed.
I think you’d better find a picture of some book with a road along between the watch towers.
I’m with unlimited.
It’s the great wall. The case is closed.
