Anybody got a good site for finding the worldwide numbers grossed so far by the LOTR movies? I’m talking theatrical sales plus DVD sales plus Video sales. I’m not thinking of rental income, as I expect most of that (if not all) goes to the Blockbuster (or whoever).
I’ve tried getting numbers out of boxofficemojo, but they’re not too consistent.
It’s not that I don’t have enough to do in real life, but I am curious.
Well, if you’re looking for LotR gross, then I would think that the scene with the Uruk-Hai being fished out of the amniotic mud would qualify, or maybe Aragorn getting kissed on the lips by his horse…
I’m not sure about all the different screens you can see, but I do know that if you click on their link for Top 100 movies, it has the domestic gross and the worldwide gross. Both the LOTR movies are in the top 11 films. It also lists the budget, and you can sort in any category. You can also see a list adjusted for inflation.
You can also go to their link to compare any two films, and see how each film did each week (domestically) during it’s run.
Qadgop, www.boxofficemojo.com is almost the industry standard for revenue data. It has archival data back to 1980 as well as data on DVD and VHS sales and rentals – and that’s just on the free version of the site.
Please ignore the previous post made under my name. It was apparently typed up by some idiot who didn’t bother to completely read the OP. I’m ordering a full investigation.
