Loudermilk on Amazon Prime

Anybody watch the series “Loudermilk” on Prime? There are only two seasons posted there but it turns out there’s a third with hopes for more in the future.

I liked it. Good writing and engaging cast of flawed and funny characters. Well worth the binge watch.

I started watching the first episode a few days ago and it didn’t immediately grab me. I might get back to it, though.

I’ll have to give this show a try this evening.

Loudermilk centers on Sam Loudermilk (Livingston), a former music critic, recovering alcoholic and now substance abuse counselor with an extremely bad attitude about, well, everything. He is unapologetically uncensored and manages to piss off everyone in his life. Although he has his drinking under control, Loudermilk discovers that when your life is a complete mess, getting clean is the easy part.

Does the main character’s vibe bear any resemblance to Ted Danson’s Becker? I loved (to hate) him in that.

Dr. John Becker goes through his daily routine of being a doctor, stopping at his favorite diner, and other various situations, all the while hating life and everything around him.

I enjoyed it during it’s run on…whichever network it was on…FX? It seemed like a companion piece to Hank Azaria’s Brockmire.

Yeah, the word “asshole” is combined often in the same sentence as the word “Loudermilk”.

While looking for something new to watch, I stumbled across Loudermilk on Amazon a few weeks ago. It stars Ron Livingston. I’m on season 2 and am really enjoying it. I’m wondering what happened to the Cutter/Tom storyline from S1. It was an intense/funny storyline that seemed to have just vanished in S2. Unless I missed something.

I’ve caught a few episodes. It’s pretty good! I liked the scene where he was in the phone store, “just give me your shittiest phone!” That’s how I always feel in those places.
