Louis Farrakhan really is a racist shithead isn't he?

You’re asking me for proof for God existing?

There isn’t any . . . that was kinda the point!

CMC fnord!

What does this mean?

Shodan

It seems like an incredibly dumb way to blame nuclear weapons on “white people” as a group.

That retinal injuries from looking at the sun affect different races in different ways, clearly.

Noble savages >> evil modern science

Me too! The first time I heard this I thought this would make a great movie. The controversy alone it would be sure to cause would make millions!

Yes, Louis Farrakhan is a bizarre racist shithead. He counts on his followers (fellow racists?) to not investigate his easily refutable errors. aka - If Farrakhan sez it, it must be true.

It means Farrakhan believes black people are inherently, genetically too stupid to have discovered nuclear physics, and that only white people could possibly have done it.

Really, he’s a Klansman in blackface, minus the most overt pyromania.

I remember really wanting to attend but being turned off by Farrakhan being one of the leaders. Ugh!!

Ditto. I had a bunch of friends who went, but couldn’t bring myself to support the NOI.

On the other hand, while I consider him the moral equivalent of, say, David Duke…there’s a lot more David Dukes out there than Louis Farrakhans. I rely on him and the NOI to anchor their end of the crazy curve.

Points.:):)

I have read some incredibly stupid shit in my lifetime. That “theory” appears to have distilled all teh stoopid possible and concentrated it in one manifesto.

I have a vague memory of seeing Farrakhan on Donahue, which should give you some idea of how long ago we’re talking about. If my memory is accurate, the conversation went something like this:

D: Why would you say something like (repeats some horrible quote about people of non-black race)
F: I would never say something like that.
D: But I’m quoting you directly. You DID say just that.
F: Yes I did.
D: So why would you say something like that?
F: I would never say something like that.

This little cycle repeated itself three or four times. The audience was packed with Farrakhan’s followers, who would applaud every time he spoke like he had just delivered the word of God.

It was weird.

We’re discussing Louis Farrakhan?

What is this?

1995?

Oh wow, I don’t even know why I made a thread now because I’ve seen an article about a speech he made where he said Obama is being controlled by satanic jews.

This guy is a real life troll on the level of Phelps, I’m baffled the media pays him any attention.

A local “black power” radio station was playing his speeches and a neighboring person was playing it loud, the only previous exposure I had to him was his name being mentioned in the media.

White people are bad because they use teh science! Or possibly white people are usurping the role of god or something.

One of his other examples was black people noticing heredity, but white people have to do research and discover DNA and create ungodly monstrosities.

That right there was the most striking thing to me^! I was like this is surreal, this portion of the speech could be coming from a klansman and it would be verbatim the same.

It’s depressing that blacks pay him the attention that they do but of course no one race has a monopoly on stupidity and there are many white clowns with equally ludicrous beliefs, and with just as many intellectually-challenged dullards hanging on their every word.

(*Sigh *) The Straight Dope has a long, long row to hoe.
