Love for Burnout Paradise

My 7 year old son and I have gotten more value out of this game than I’ve gotten out of any other game…ever (and that’s saying something based on the time I’ve spent on Bioshock)

We don’t race, we don’t do the challenges, we wrung out the demo, then bought the game of the year edition…and now we just spend all our time exploring and causing damage.

If you ask my son what his favorite Christmas memory was, it was when I dropped $6 on the ‘unlock all cars’ download. He’s a serious carfreak. That was the cheapest made memory yet.

Really, I’m not like that, but if I met the map designers, I’d kiss them dead in the face. All of them.

The way Burnout Paradise covers so many different, fully realized, types of scenery, and does so in such a small space, and yet has such a very large map, yet has NO load times, is amazing. I just flat LOVE finding places…and after six months or so, I still AM finding new places.

And I LOVE the fact the cars look almost like familiar cars, but are JUST different enough so they don’t have to pay licensing.

And the Ski Jump on the Island. 'nuff said.

Never heard of it. From where? For what system?

It’s actually Burnout: Paradise City, and it’s available on the pc, ps3 and xbox 360, of the teo consoles, xbox seems a little more detailed (more crap flying about during crashes).

For the 360 and the PS3 (get the 360 version) It’s the 4th or so game in the series.

But I don’t think Surf Island is available on PC.

Nor the… legendary cars.

Drive safe, now.

Edit: No, the box says Burnout: Paradise.
