Love is in the air

I was in Walmart tonight (don’t judge me). Besides the enormous section devoted to Valentine’s Day, I knew romance was in the air. Men were crowding the condom aisle and the cheap cut flowers.

How are you celebrating Valentine’s Day? I bought dog treats and shoe polish.

I take part in The Valentine Project and have my nieces help me make Valentine’s Day packages for a couple of sick kids in Ohio. I also send small packages with doo-dads and candy to my two nieces and 4 other kids, just for something fun.

On the day…nothing planned so far. Boyfriend works on Friday 2nd shift and Saturday 1st shift so he’s out for the count. I don’t feel good, I will probably watch the Letterkenny Valentine’s Day special and fall asleep early.

Might give a box of conversation hearts to my tai chi instructor, just because I have extras.

St Valentine’s Day is also two of my friends’ wedding anniversary. So I celebrate them.

I bought a new catnip mousie for my cat.

My cat’s get shrimps tomorrow.

I shall be having frozen pizza for one.

I wish Cecil Adams would send us a holiday message.
I love you, Big guy!!:heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart::heart:

I saw a picture on facebook this morning of several abandoned flower bouquets in the beer section of a store. The caption said “decisions have been made this Valentine’s day”

We planned it so we’ve got plenty of Yellow Curry Shrimp left over for a refreshingly unromantic Valentine’s Day Dinner.

I’m eating all the chocolate that is available today at my workplace. I shouldn’t.

Waiting for cheap chocolate day

I told my husband NO CANDY! I’m still eating candy from Christmas. I also said no to cards. I told him you might as well throw a $5 bill in the garbage. Don’t get me wrong, I like celebrating Valentine’s Day and our love, but I’d rather get a pizza and watch the DVR’d Chicago Med & Fire. The temp this morning was -35 below(F) windchill! I just want to stay in my cozy house.

Q: Do you give her the treats before or after she shines your boots?

.

Me? Take out, good wine, and the Hallmark Channel.

( Lacey Chabert, for a woman who bakes constantly, creates chocolate masterpieces, and has married 5 times as many men as Liz Taylor, you never gain an ounce. What’s your secret, girl? Baby goats?)

I gave my gf her dozen roses on Wednesday, so that they’d peak today (they are beautiful). We went out drinking last night for VD Eve, and we’re going out for dinner tonight.

My wedding anniversary was Tuesday, so husband is still coasting on the bouquet he got me a few days ago.

The shrimps nearly caused a kerfuffle. Cat’s are happy. Dogs are happy. Beck’s happy.

(:))

I will not be celebrating it, because my life is devoid of love or romance.

However, there’s a high probability that the next time I swing by the parents’ house my mom will have a card and a little box of those Sweethearts candies waiting for me. That’s how she rolls.

Our elder anniversary is still a fiscal quarter away and quality eateries for celebrations are rare around Amateur County so they’re pre-packed. We’ll just sip Chocolate Shop red wine, munch Trader Joe’s crab cakes, stream Debussy piano sonatas off uTube, stare into each other’s eyes, and exhale. And maybe walk through our forest with squirrels cursing us for the invasion. A few blasts on my genuine Clarke tinwhistle should scatter them.

I’m not celebrating, unless…

Dopers, would you be my Valentines?
