Love Scenes in Video Games

That’s the most “graphic” sex scene I’ve ever seen in a computer game.

Other semi-relevant instances:

In Max Payne 2, Max catches the female assassin/love interest while she’s in the shower. IIRC, you see her butt, but there’s no sex.

In Ultima 7, part 2: Serpent Isle, there’s one character that the Avatar can have sex with. It’s a fade-out. You must be good, too, because she gives you a valuable fur cloak as a gift afterwards

Other than Mafia, the only non fade out sex scene I can think of is with a prostiture in LSL 1 – a CENSORED sign covers up the bed and starts bouncing while the theme song plays.

Star Control 2 had what I guess would be defined as a fade-out scene, though I’m not sure what you guys mean by that. At one point in the game, you can hook up with the scantily-clad Syreen base commander, at which points the lights in the room go out and you basically pick conversation options ranging from “I wonder what happens if I do this?” to “Hey! Hands off! I’m not THAT kind of Captain!”

It’s probably one of the funniest sex scenes I’ve ever encountered, just for the dialogue.

That would’ve been Ceciliantas.

There was a fan made Quest For Glory?! Where can I get it? Is it any good?

I don’t know how good it is, because I haven’t played much of it. They made it much more humor based, and very unpc(The Hero apparently did a poor job cleaning out spielburg the first time around, so the place has really gone to pot years later. The Maifia moved in and brothels are springing up).

It can be found at the site not to be named(because apparently it pisses off the mods if you mention it on the dope).

Quest for Glory 4/1/2 can be found at Home of the Underdogs (http://underdogs.cjb.net/). I’ve linked to them before and the mods have never objected – they host old games “abandoned” by their publisher. Underdogs is more legit than most: if there’s any possibly way to buy a game other than ebay they link to it instead of providing it for download, and if any publisher objects to one of their old games being hosted it’s taken down.

QFG4.5 as a fan made add on is freeware though so no problems there!

Just in case you’re not joking…

If you ran up to her and, upon stopping did an (automatic) “hiya!” she’d kill you dead.

If you did a slow walk up to her, then you got the kiss or hug or whatever. Then, like most dumbass videogame women she’d get herself kidnapped again.

For some reason, I was under the impression that the mods frowned upon linking to that site. Thanks for letting me know it’s not true.

I reloaded this puppy into my computer to play it again after 5 long years. How in the hell can I complete the Jaheira romance? For some reason it always fails to activate even though I know it should according to the cheat sheet. I downloaded Shadowkeeper which is an editor for Baldur’s Gate SOA but I don’t know how to activate the romance. Any help?

Anyway, one more is Thousand Arms, a quirky little RPG for the Playstation where your main character is a blacksmith. Each girl in the game gives a different power to your weapon when you reforge it, and the power depends on your relationship level with the girl, from 1-10. You up the relationship level by going on dates or playing mini-games. No sex or anything like that like in H-games, just these dates. After all, the game got a T rating.

It’s got some gameplay problems, but if you can get it fairly cheaply, I’d give it a shot. For what it’s worth, I never finished the game, because I got sick of having to do all this dating to move the plot along. It’s a more amusing concept than having to play cards all the time in FFVIII, but it got old, even with guides to make sure all the conversations went right.

IIRC there’s a bug in the game that the official patches didn’t resolve. I’d go searching for it right now but I’m on a 28.8 connection till Monday. If you look for jaheira romance bug and unoffical bg2 bugfixes on google, there’s a page where a guy’s put together a bunch of bug fixes and slight enhancement and tweaks. Once you’ve done that you can use the ingame cheater to jump to each sequence in the romances immediatly – the game uses a realtime timer so it’s a pain in the ass waiting for the next dialogue to come up! Once again, I can’t remember what that is but some googling should turn it up.

If you can find it, one of the BG2 developers also did an addon by himself that expanded on the end game of Throne of Bhaal and lengthened some sequences (especially the epilogues) that were shortened for time when developing. It’s pretty good!

There’s a romance FAQ for the game via a website that disables external links to files, so go to this BG2 page and scroll down to Romance FAQ.

If that doesn’t help, here’s a message board thread on the romances. Further down the page are instructions on how to use the in-game console to activate the romance, etc.
