You guys know we’re blowing our lurking status by posting in here.

I lurk for a variety of reasons: (Though, considereing the stats of some of you, I am a regular chatter box.)
The debates can be marvelous! The intellect of many of the posters on this board are incredible. Just reading some of the threads has inspired me to rethink and critically examine many of beliefs and preconceived notions. Some were made stronger while others I was able to discard.
Acceptance. I like a place where almost no question is unacceptable. Of course, a search of the archives is always advised before starting a thread. Otherwise the result can be a little harsh.
I know who Opal is.
Some of the flames in the pit are terrific. Some of the best never used a single curse word. I am in awe of the ability of some people to tell a person to go to hell in such a manner that they look forward to the trip.
Those are the reasons I read. The reasons I rarely post:
Nothing to say.
Not up to the challenge to take on the craftier word-smiths.
Views/beliefs not solid enough to stand up to the scruitiny of a debate. By the time they are, the thread is gone.
No time. A post can be read in seconds. A good post takes serious time to compose. Anything less is not worth everyones’ time, I my opinion.

Why say anything when it’s been said better before?
55 in a year, I guess I am a Lurkaholic too.I could claim that I am too busy, but actualy I am usually too fascinated reading to bother posting. Call it a “Jerry Springer” syndrome, I keep muttering, “Come on !!! how can he/she expose him/herself like that.” Being a VERY private person, I am constantly amazed at others who are not.
Er… I’ve been lurking since May 98, on the old AOL boards. I’ve posted about twelve times since then.
I really suck at writing things.
No one notices when I post, does that count?
No one notices me either. I made my hundredth post earlier today and all I got was a chocolate bar…
Let’s see, 30 posts and 230 views, or thereabouts. Not a bad average for a thread dedicated to lurkers…

And I thought I spent most of my time lurking. Under 200 posts in 12 months. But I see I’m up against some very professional lurkers out there.
When a lurker posts on a lurker thread does it really count as a post? Is anyone except other lurkers reading this thread? hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm ?
