I always thought a lurker was someone who posted rarely if ever but visited often (like me). I’m here every day but rarely post and have only started a (not very memorable) thread once.
Maybe I’m not a lurker but an infrequent poster which isn’t nearly as nifty a name.
I’m a pseudo-lurker in that I read a great number of threads but don’t post to many of them.
I’m about as close to a lurker as you can get without actually having my fingers broken for the last three years…

I used to post reasonably often, but after losing most of my posts in the Winter of Our Discount Tent, I decided to hold off and work on developing my conversational skills. I’m preparing for my Big Comeback any year now.
Seeing as I have been here for months and have a post count of just over 50, I consider myself a lurker.
I am a lurker, in that I’ve been reading posts here since September 2001 and I just registered yesterday. It’s time I stop lurking. Was the sun always this bright??

velvetjones, I totally concur with your definition of lurker. FWIW, I remember seeing you somewhere once, just because I think your handle is tres cool.

I’ve been reading this board almost daily for a few months now, and my post count is still in the single digits. I sometimes think “wouldnt it be cool if I had a thousand posts”, but I just don’t have that much too say. So yes, I am a lurker!

Chatterbox indeed! OK, OK… my post count is kinda high for me to have lurker-status of any sort… Its just that… that I’m in that awkward in-between phase and I need a niche. I’m not quite a newbie. I’m certainly not a veteran. So, I’m just kinda floating around here in limbo…

Same as some of the other guys (and gals) been here over a year and I read something here everyday. Unless the thread has to do with Japanese,Hawaiian or African-American stuff (or NHB Fighting which I’ve had yet to se a post about) rarely do I post anything,and even then only if I feel I have something to contribute.
(Actullay I think I quit posting because I was laughed off the board by my “Ask the blaquneese guy!” and “If you were your own culture…” post I created )
