This altercation was inspired by the recent “Steve Austin vs. Hulk” thread.
Who would win this one? Long or short fight? Why?
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Well, the Hulk gets stronger as he gets madder.
And in the DC-Marvel crossover, Wonder Woman gets zapped into unconsciousness by Storm of the X-Men.
I’d have to say that Lynda Carter’s Wonder Woman would get beat by the Ferrigno’s Hulk. But she can change into her superhero version faster.
If WW can get that magic lasso around him, she can order him to stop and he’s powerless to do anything but obey. In a toe to toe matchup (no magic lasso) I think WW’s combo of brains and brawn (she is nearly as strong as that particular version of Hulk) she could win, but it would be close.
… Twas Beauty that killed the Beast.
TV Hulk’s special move was to grab a guy by the rear belt loop and throw him into bails of hay in slow motion. TV Wonder Woman has no belt loops. Therefore, TVWW wins.
The TV version of Wonder Woman was strong, but vulnerable to chloroform and knockout gas. She was overwhelmed a couple of times by a small group of men before getting “chloro-KOed” or having her belt ripped off, thus reducing her to normal human strength. She was also physically challenged by a mere gorilla (though she did eventually beat him) in the “Gargantua” episode. She was also knocked out once by a series of blows to the head ( I am still trying to think of the episode title!).
The TV Hulk seemed a bit stronger physically. I do not remember him ever getting overwhelmed by any number of male opponents. (I have seen less episodes of this show, so kindly inform me if I am incorrect!)
I think the Hulk would definitely win if he could take WW by surprise and get in the first blow. Otherwise, she would win, due to superior skills and weaponry – once he is in the lasso, the fight is over!
I’m not disputing anything that’s been said here, but I do have a “think about it” question.
From what I remember about Wonder Woman, it seems that that lasso paralyzes the higher-functioning centers of the human brain, thus turning the recipient into a non-thinking slave.
The Hulk, however, with more of a “beast brain” might (just might) not be susceptible to suggestions from Wonder Woman if he’s in the lasso.
Of course, this also depends on whether one is going with the TV-Hulk (basically non-thinking) or the Marvel Comics Hulk (simplistic child-like thoughts, but definitely sorta-reasoning).
Anyway–without the lasso, I’d have to go with the Hulk. Just IMHO.
So does Lynda Carter.
Rimshot.
I’m going with Wondy with the lasso. She could do it without, but it would be a closer fight.
Oh yeah. The way I see it is, WW lassos Hulk, who then grabs her golden lasso and pulls her into his huge, manly gamma-irradiated arms. He gazes into her eyes and her soothing womanhood calms his inner raging monster. The smell and feel of his bulging, gamma-ray laden pecs & biceps give her pause, and she gazes into his eyes, realizing she’s finally met the man who could truly [censored] an Amazonian princess.
And they live happily ever after.
They both win.
