Lyrics I can't work out

This is my first post of any kind whatsoever, so I hope I’m doing this right

OK, my question is a simple one. Has anyone deciphered the lyrics to the Robert Plant song Big Log, from his solo album, the principle of moments. There are no lyrics on the sleeve, but I only have it on vinyl and I know sometimes CD re-issues have the lyrics on.

I think the first verse goes something like:

“My love is in league with the freeway
It’s passion will rise as the cities fly by
And the taillights (daylight?) dissolve in the comming of night
And ??? state of mind?”

can anyone help?

For the longest time I thought he was saying his love was “a leaf on the freeway.” Kinda poetic I thought.

My love is in league with the freeway
Its passion will ride, as the cities fly by
And the tail-lights dissolve, in the coming of night
And the questions in thousands take flight
