(Hoping this is the right forum)

Can I record my voice with my iMac alone?
I have a new iMac. It came with GarageBand. My iBook (that I killed) did as well, and I could record my voice on it by just speaking at my computer.
I’m not having as good luck with this. I use Skype and it works just fine so the built in mic must be working… I’ve checked out tutorials online but they all assume an external mic. Any insights?

You are supposed to be able to do this. A quick Google search shows that you are not the only one with this problem, but I didn’t see a concrete solution.
